What is a spinning sensation in your head mean?

You know like when you were a kid and you would ride on a merry-go-round or spin yourself round and round. And then you'd be falling down dizzy; you're head would be swimming. Maybe a week or so ago (or longer) I started having this same spinning, or head swimming sensation, when lifting my head up or moving my head while in bed. It feels as if I'm about to pass out; it feels different then just being about ready to fall asleep. I read online that it is associated with migraines. I also have been feeling sort of light headed throughout the day. I went to a follow up visit with my doctor last week and I told her about this. And she said she didn't know why and it might be a side effect of medication. She said hardly anything to me. And my ultrasound I took after having to go in am ambulance to the emergency room (in the past month) showed I had gallstones. She told me there was nothing to be done about my gallstones. Anyways anybody know about these things? Thanks.

I am not a doctor so please do not conclude and medicate your self based on what I say. It is only that I am suffering from similar symptoms that I am hazarding a guess on what it can be.
1. It can be Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypertension
2. It can be spondylosis. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spondylosis.
I do not know about gallbladder causing any of the symptoms you describe. The medical professionals know the best. If you are not satisfied please take a second opinion.

Thank you for your advice. My doctor doubled my dosage of Propranolol from 30 to 60mg the past weeks (I forgot how long ago). I just read that Propranolol can cause dizziness and light headedness. So I just took 1/2 a pill twice today instead of 1 whole (60 mg) twice today. I had a migraine today and had to take a Relpax. It could be Relpax in conjunction with Propranolol isn't good maybe. My spinning sensation was increased after taking Relpax.
