As people learning to recycle and observe green living and protect nature, there is drive to make people aware that plastic is harmful and that we should instead use grocery bags or plastic bags and re use them to lessen the plastic we dump into our garbage.
Do you have the habit of bringing your own. Or do you just have the new plastic given by the stores or groceries. i myself don't bring grocery bags or plastics. cause i am shy to do that. HA ha. but i do though like to support green living.

About two years ago our government began to encourage us to bring our own plastic bag when we go shopping in the supermarkets . And supermarkets are not allowed to give out free plastic bags for the customers . Well i also support this very much but i haven't formed a habit to bring my own bag yet . i just forgot it totally before i go shopping in the supermarkets.

no, i never do this before. i think in my country, there is no culture to bring own plastic bag. But at some state, we do have a campaign like 'Monday no plastic bag', means on every monday, you need to bring your own bag, the mall will not give you any bag on this day.

No, i never bring my plastic bags when buying my groceries as the grocery stores already have plastics used for their business. But, a shopping mall in the next city in my town, encourages their customer to buy the green bags and used it every time they buy groceries. then, every time they uses it they give points and when the accumulated points is reach the customer can redeem their points to be rewarded with the item of their choices. This is the way the grocery owner saves a lot of money in buying plastics bags. I used or bring my plastic bags when i am buying fresh meat, fish , chicken and vegetables to the wet market or open market. i usually bring the large plastic bags..then all my stuffs are put there..That is one way I reduce the use of many plastics bags and help the environment in reducing plastic garbage.

I dont bring plastic bag, instead I bring cloth bag which is big and I can put all things I buy for a week. In the grocery store they just use boxes to put some grocery items. Since plastic bag is a mess so we are practicing just to bring our own bag.

Actually I have bought the recyclable bags. If I know I'm going shopping I'll bring one of them. I've actually never heard of reusing plastic bags.

Hi,
This is a wonderful and 'Go Green' topic too...love it!
I heard that in overseas like in Europe countries, plastic bags are
charged. But in Malaysia...the culture is not there...BUT lately
many shopping malls are encouraging consumers to bring their own
recycled bag. There are promotion whereby any purchases above RM100,
will be given a free 'Recycle Bag'. Anyone being spotted carrying their
mall's recycle bag by their officers will be rewarded with a 'mystery'
gift... Thus it strive to promote 'Go Green' campaign awareness!
I personally carry a recycle bag wherever I go. The supermarkets here
in Malaysia do promote this campaign..for instance - Jusco Supermarket
are encouraging their customers to use the Jusco Recycle Bag when shopping
at their outlet. They will get a 'chop' each time and after accumulating
a number of 'chop's they will be rewarded with Jusco Points / Jusco Vouchers!
Good Move - Jusco
It is tough to educate public to bring their own recycle bag because :-
during weekend, we really buy a lot of things..cold items, wet items and
dry items...one recycle bag only can put 1 type of items...we still need
more plastic bags.. we bought full trolley load of things! Not enough!
Customers are not willing to pay for the plastic bags..too many supermarkets
in Malaysia...customers will go to the one which provide plastic bags..lol
Customers will complain if you force them to pay for it!
All the best, do keep in touch!

Hi hotsummer.... I have only one favorite shopping mall, that is the SM. They have this green bag and I use it in shopping. I am not practicing green living at the same time I am earning points in my advantage card every time I used the green bag. Happy myLotting! Have a nice day.

As plastic bags are for pay here, we usually take our own bags to supermarket, sometimes not plastic bags. Everybody here knows that if you want plastic bags when you buy groceries you will have to pay for the bags. But sometimes we forget to bring our own bags so then we have to buy a new one. And plastic bags are very cheap here, some rich people don't take it seriously.

Although CRT is not that much efficient and good looking but it is less in cost and can be handled roughly. If it gets damaged it can be easily repaired but in case of TFT it is always a risk.

I have two bags that I do take shopping but the thing is, it's quite hard to actually remind myself to actually take the bags. Whenever I need to go shopping, I get sidetracked with all of the other things that I need to do or take before I leave the house that I end up forgetting to take the bags. When I do take the bags though, I really cut down quite a bit on the bags that I bring home.

Never thought of bringing plastic bag when out shopping. The store will have a new one on every purchase and to bring one is quite embarrassing.

I have a shopping bag. Its a cloth bag that's especially for shopping. Some stores wouldn't give you bags unless you pay them extra so I keep a few reusable bags in my bag just in case.

NO, I don't bring my own cloth bag or plastic bag when I go to grocery store, I just use their plastic bag and recycle at home like using them as rubbish bag in toilet or little trash bin.

I do bring my own bags... sometimes I forget them if I dont put them back in my trunk of my car right away and then I am stuck using the stores plastic bags --but I have alot of the recycle material bags now vs the plastic ones. One of the stores that we go to charge for them, so I prefer to bring my own.
the plastic bags that I have at home get used for either garbage... and when I had a cat it was use to clean out the liter... but now I have less of them since we are recycling more.
Happy mylotting.
