If given a chance, would you love to go 200 years back ?

My grandparents often tell us life was really simple back then, even if there's no TV's, mobile phones, computers, and all these modern technological inventions, and there's very little or even no pollutions at all. Children went out in the streets and played without thinking they would be kidnapped. People were happy without this or that thing. Sicknesses and diseases that become epidemics today were very few or absent during those times. They were content with their simple lifestyle. I even thought about it before but I can do nothing about it. I believe it is no accident I was born and grew up on this so-called technological and information age. Even if life is complicated nowadays, I believe, I still can make it simple by my way of life.

i surely answer, i don't want to get back to 200 or 500 year behind, even i have chance too. Cause in that period my country still in imperialism of Netherland. it was full of suffer and discrimination. If i try to change history, i affraid that i would make it worse than now :D. So better option is i'm please with recent condition but still many things that still should be done well specially about poorness, and wealthy of community.

I would not go back to the historical period if I have the chance. If I go back, that means I will left all my family and friends now, and I don't know what my life would be there. So, I would like to choose to treasure the current time.

Hello Phillip! Yes, I would like to go back 200 years back. Life was a lot simpler back then. People make things so complicated these days. Thats a pretty good question...I always want to go back to past coz i want to see how the egyptians were?how they made all these things? Now we have a great technology but we not able to solve mystery so i want to go back and see how they made all these unbelievable things.

No, I would not want to go back in time. From whatever I have read in my history books, those times were definitely the dark ages of human history. Apart from the lack of technologies, I think the very society was more harsh and poorly developed. Communication was a big problem…going from one place to another was a big uncomfortable journey in itself. There was practically no freedom for women, education was restricted to the privileged, no infrastructure so to speak of. Lack of proper humane laws and strict punishment codes are really something I would be scared of. And then we had those kings and landlords whose every word was a command…I would have little freedom as a common person. Even if I was born privileged, I would still not like to go back to those dark times.

I feel nervous and somewhat scared to go back 200 years ago. As at that time the medical treatment was poor. If I had health problem, I would have a big trouble. Besides, perhaps there would be more wars at that time and I want to live in peaceful world. I love China

No. Since there won't be any technology which makes life easier and faster. It would also be boring without TV, computer, internet etc.

I cannot think of going back. I mean I cannot live without my PC. Moreover how am I supposed to travel on a horse or carriage. But if I go back a 100 years I would definately like to meet two persons. Albert Einstein and Rabindranath Tagore. These are the two persons I would love to meet. Maybe I will submit Einstein's theory of relativity before he did...what are the odds??

if the god give me the chance,i think what i do to go 200 years back to find my love.the love is no boundry,so when love happened at that period,i can received this,i think that whatever happened something between us,i can find the way to deal with some abstacle,i think that how mamy years people can live?how many times people can go back to the history?when something can happend,i hope that i let my life become more interest,i think i can love to go 200years back.

nah I wouldn't want that. suffering is not the reason though. I enjoy my life now with the perfect husband If I go back to the past I might not meet him there It would be nice to share what I know now but then again people might not listen and corner me or punish me for being 'strange and different' so I'm not going back in time I wouldn't mind to go forward in the future just to see what predictions come true but if I do that then there will be no surprises left :) today is the present (left to be opened)

hello, phillip. naaaa.... i don't bother going pack to history because i know life in the past is not easy. I don't want to witness how my country man struggle and shed blood to fight for our freedom and most of all i don't want to be part of that war.lol It scares me a lot. It will be a traumatic experience for me and for sure I'll end up in asylum.Grrrrr...!!

No. We were serfs 200 years back and a lot my ancestors faced discrimination in the Russian Empire...and I like how clean things are today.

I have always give that a thought. but i don't want to relax, I want to change history and seek victory against the colonizers. i would go back with all the knowledge i have from my time. not to mention, weapons and technology that would defeat the invaders,and future occupiers. our history is also part shame and betrayal. if that happens, maybe my country would have strong nationality and patriotism in their country..but that's just a thought.

The life before are pretty much simple than we have right now, but I think it is pretty much easier to live during those days . 200 years back.. so 1800..hmm that's not a bad period to go back to.. there's lots that have happened and i'd probably be in the united states around then.. before slavery was a big issue and yet right when the nation was starting on the east coast.. i think it would be pretty neat to live back then and experience things as you know they would turn out.. (would i/ can i change it?) .. it'd be scary though because that means there's the possibility you can change history.. but 500 years back is too far back i think.. and i would probably last around 2 - 3 weeks before going crazy and wanting to go back to the modern world with all the technologies and stuff..
