Is part of this famous quote associated with immigration to the US as well as the Statue of Liberty, the gate keeper to the US in olden days.
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
- Emma Lazarus, The New Colossus
Wich someone had commented on an article posted by the Hunger Task force with that quote via FB. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/09/opinion/09ehrenreich.html?pagewanted=3&_r=2
It's so sad but this is how life seems to be. Punish those who are homeless, poor, sick ect.... as if anyone needs more punishment when they are living in such circumstances.
After reading the article do you agree that's how things are turning out to be/ or Disagree? So if you decided to share your meal w/ someone less fortunate or the bounty of your garden you are as much of a criminal as the person who is hungry? SAD really sad.

You're right it is real sad. Calling it a crime to help the peolpe who need help. I think if someone wanted to really fight those laws, they could, and they could win. Those laws wouldn't stop me from helping someone though. I would help them, then fight the ruling if I got arrested for it. I don't see how they can say who I can give my money, or food to.
