Do you clip coupons? I've been printing coupons online to save a dollar here and there, but haven't gotten really serious yet. Where should I start, how do you learn the in's and out's of couponing, and is it really worth the time?

Yes, I have, more now than in the past. I mainly just go through the Sunday paper and clip the coupons. The paper pretty much pays for itself with all the coupons I clip out. I never use coupons for something I didn't plan on getting though. Some things look tempting, but unless I already planned to buy it, I'm not cutting it out. I also get coupons in products sometimes. Like Gorton's Fisherman products...they usually have a coupon in them for the next purchase of their product. As do Lean Cuisine dinners.

I'm going to have to check out the products I buy more carefully. I've purchased both Gorton's Fisherman and Lean Cuisine in the last few months, and I didn't notice the coupons. Thanks for the tip!

I've got coupons from the Lean Cuisine and Gorton Fisherman products in my wallet so I won't forget them when I go to the store.

Hey glords! I do clip coupons! But, I most of the time forget to bring them with me to the grocery store or I bring them with me and forget to give them to the cashier until after she rings up my order! It really can save you money if you catch them and they are for the things you use! I have a girlfriend who saves hundreds of dollars by clipping them! I'm not that serious a coupon clipper and don't buy the newspaper where alot of them are given! And when I do try to print them from the computer it messes up the computer and I have all sorts of problems from installing the coupon printer thingy!

Lol... forgetting to bring them to the store, that sounds like me. Recently I purchased reusable grocery sacks... so that I could be environmentally friendly, but every time I went to the store I forget to take them. Now before I go shopping I make sure to fold them up and stick them in my diaper bag, but then I forget to get them out at the check out. Only once in the last two months did I get the bags to the store and out in time to be checked out. Unfortunately on that trip the bagger was insane because he double bagged my groceries, putting them first in the plastic sack and then into my reusable bag. CRAZY... Anyhow back to coupons. You are so right to only purchase the things you want. Too often I get sucked in by a "deal" and end up spending more money instead of less.

Try coupon forums like www.afullcup.com or www.couponmom.com. I started looking through their forums and they always post great deals that are going on as well as keep you informed of what coupons are available. I get coupons from the weekly newspaper as well as out of magazines, the little pull tabs on the shelves at the grocery store and I even print some. These forums will tell you lots about couponing and you will get inspired at the person who goes to the store and gets like $300 worth of products for only $150 or sometimes even better! Good luck!
