Hi jugsjugs, I passed my driver license when I was 23. That time I didn’t have a car yet. My elder brother owned an old mini cooper. It was blue in color. I was not allowed to drive it though I had already passed my driving.
He allowed me to drive his auto having him to sit beside me. You know it’s so uneasy and not relaxing as well sitting beside me. Moreover he would lose his temper in case I had done anything not falling in with his wish. I could drive his car freely when he felt satisfied with my driving skill after a couple of months.
After working for a few years I then accumulated enough money to buy a second hand Toyota then. It’s so nice to possess my own car. I don’t have to borrow my brother’s car anymore. I could enjoy going out at anytime and to anywhere freely
Happy posting

I learned to drive as soon as I was legally allowed to. Once I did learn to drive, I mostly ran errands for my parents and occasionally went places with my friends.

Legally, I started to drive at the typical age of 16, which is the age of which we could get our driver's permit in the state where I grew up.
However, before that, my mom took me and both my older brother and sister all at once. I was 13, my brother was 16, and my sister was 17. I guess she thought she would get it out of the way. That was the only time I can remember my mom ever riding with me until I went to take the driving exam. I guess she didn't have the best of nerves, so she didn't like to teach us kids how to drive. LOL

Hello jugsjugs. I have my wife learn how to drive in her early thirties and she got her driving license about six years ago, but I am sorry to say that I have not even tried to learn as I am near-sighted. I think that it is not safe for me to learn to drive due to my near-sightedness.
It is true that it is very convenient for one to drive one's own car anywhere rather than ask for a lift. Take care and have a good day, my dear friend.

I started driving when I was 24 years old too. Growing up we only had one car and my dad used it to go to work so I did not learn to drive. Before I learn to drive my friend would give me a ride but sometimes I would be late so I decide I had to learn to drive and get my own car.

I started driving as soon as I was allowed to get my permit (which was 15 and a half years old). I couldn't wait to get behind the wheel! Though I waited on getting my license as I didn't want to fail my driving test. I held off for a whole year and a half. LOL
Having a driver's license certainly has it's advantages. Even though driving may not be as exciting to me anymore I'm glad I got mine when I did as I always have to drive somewhere nowadays.
Happy mylotting and drive safe!

I started driving when I was 21. I was still living at home and it was just my mom and I and I really didn't have anyone to drive me any where except for her and it was kind of hard getting rides from her when she was working two jobs. I needed transportation so I could go to work and go to school. And there was no bus routes only taxis that could take me everywhere and my mom kind of hated the fact that I couldn't run errands for her while at work. Like buy groceries and paying bills and stuff. So I learned how to drive taking those driving classes and my mom tried to help me learn how to drive as well. Then I went and took the driving test and well it took me two times before I passed the driving test. And now I'm married and living in another city and I'm driving everywhere.

i learned how to drive about 2-3 years ago. we have a spare pick up at home and i was enrolled in a driving school because my father is usually away on business trips so he really didn't have the time to teach me. for me it's ok to drive sometimes but i do think about the cost of using your own vehicle. here in the Philippines, it's practically cheaper to commute rather than have your own car. i also think about how it affects the environment. so i rarely drive.

I remember that I was in my boyfriend's apts (my dad dropped me off) taking care of some stuff that he asked me to, before he left out of the country to visit his brother. He left his car keys just in case. After 30 min. a policemen called me and let me know that my dad had a car accident and the ambulance will take him to the hospital; My mom was at work, my brother and my sister too. So witout thinking twice I grab my boyfriend's car key and head it to the hospital. I was 16 yrs old at that time and belive me when I tel you that I dont know how I did it! But thanks God my dad was ok and that I made it to the hospital safely!.

I got my driver's license when I was sixteen years old. So that is when I guess I officially learned to drive. Everyone in my class that year was so excited because they were finally at the legal age to get their license. I had one friend whose parent's didn't let her take the test for her license until she was seventeen. But I was sixteen.

I was 15 years old when I got my learner's permit to drive. I got it renewed, but did not go and get my driver's license then. I did not get my drivers license till I was near my 21st birthday. I bought me a car for my 21st birthday and got my drivers license.

I started driving last year at the age 25, and that because my father told me to, kind force and I am glad he did. If he do not asked me to learn, maybe until now I cannot drive car, even though only automatic, but still I am glad I know how to. Then I bought a car, which because I had to, and not because I wanted to and then life has been different since then.

I was 14... because I live in a rural area, most people learn to drive between the ages of 10 and 15. I didn't get my license, however, until I was 19 years old.

I was only 12 when my daddy decided that I needed to know how to drive. He taught me on the back roads when we went fishing and stuff. He also taught me how to drive a stick shift so I can drive just about anything now! He used to send me to the store and have me take his car even though my mom protested!!

Don't feel bad jugsjugs, I was your age when I got my license. It was actually issued on my 25th birthday, so I told everyone it was my birthday gift to myself. I too got tired of asking for rides and while we have mass transit in the area, I was tired of walking to the bus stop, standing out there waiting in all sorts of weather, and then taking 10x as long to get where I needed to go. It's SO much faster to drive myself! Plus it's really nice that I can easily go on trips to see family and friends now. Before I drove I was terrified of doing so, but a week with a professional driving school teacher and those anxieties were right out the window...hasn't bothered me ever since and only wish I had done it sooner. Hooray for driving! :)
