Hello mylotters!
I have seen a few movies lately and I pick my top 2 favorites.
My first is "The Ugly Truth" with my favorite actress from Grays Anatomy, Kathrine Heigl. She is a romantically challenged morning show producer who is searching for Mr. Perfect has left her hopelessly single. She's in for a rude awakening when her boss teams her up with a hardcore personality who promises to spill the ugly truth on what make men and women tick.
My second favorite is "The Proposal" with Sandra Bullock. She plays a pushy boss that forces her young assistant to marry her in order to keep her Visa status in U.S. and avoid deportation to Canada.
I have to give these two movies * * * * * 5 stars. If you like comedy and romance you must see these two movies. I can't wait for them to come out on DVD so I can add them to my collection.
Now, what is or are your top 2 favorite movies? can you recommend any other movies?

Hello Ricven!
I am new at this but I thought we are not allowed to post any links. Or are we allowed to as long as we send it in a PM? I got to go check out the guidelines, again.
Thank you for responding to my discussion, Ricven.
Take care and happy mylotting! :)

Thank you for the recommendation of those two movies! I've been wanting to see them both and now I'm sure they would be worth my time and maybe even my money...lol! I say that because I don't go to the theater that often these days, they've gotten soooo expensive.
The last two movies I went to see were "My Sister's Keeper" (or was it "Her"?) and "Seven Pounds". I liked them both but I REALLY loved the first one although it made me cry like a baby.

Hello Annie!
All I can say is, if you love to laugh and who doesn't? you will totally love both movies. I agree that movies has gone up a bit. And if you go add the popcorn and soda. Forget it, you might is well go out to an expensive restaurant...LOL..however, I really though it was worth every penny. I actually seen both movies twice. I know, I am nuts...but like I stated in my previous responses, these are the best comedy I have seen in a very long time. I can't wait for them to come out on DVD. They will both be in my collection! :)
Thank you for responding to my discussion.
Take care Annie and happy mylotting! :)

Hi SurveyPrincess09,
I love to watch comedy movies and romance. "A walk to remember" is my alltime favourite I really love to watch this movie any no. of times and also "The Notebook". "Pursuit of happiness" is the one I left out tears in the climax.. Nice one indeed....
Recently I've watched "Marley & Me" and it was great with the beautiful story with the dog. Really love it...Nice discussion
Cheers

Hello Phillip!
If you love comedy and romance, you have to go see the two movies I mentioned. You will simply love it. "A walk to remember" I have seen. I own "The Notebook",on DVD, very good movie, lots of tears though.
Eventhough it looked like good movies I haven't seen "Pursuit of happiness" because it looked sad. And I love Will Smith. I've been down lately so I try to avoid sad movies.
I wanted to go see "Marley & Me" because it looked like a good and funny movie when my friends told me that it was a tearjearker. Grown men were crying. That made me not go see it. :( Maybe one day I'll get brave and rent it. :)
Thank you for responding my friend!
Take care and happy mylotting! :)

I saw the movie "Pursuit of Happiness" a few days ago, and I think it's one of the best movies ever because it tells us how to live up during bad times and that is "never give up". So I stongly recommend you to watch this movie if you had not seen it. I believe you will like it.

Hello Zfj! I heard all good things about this movie. I love Will Smith but the preview looked like a sad movie and that's why I stayed away from it. Since a lot of people are recommending this movie, I will have to give it a try.
Thank you for responding.
Take care and happy mylotting!

4 months 3 weeks 2 days is the best film i've seen this year. it was made last year but it was only recently that i've seen it. and it made an impact. really unforgettable for me. it is not an american film and it has subtitles. i recommend this film even if i know you'll get bored in the first few minutes. try watching it for the first 30 minutes, no, better watch it till the end. the ugly truth and the proposal will suddenly be forgetful movies.

Hmmm... Let me see... This is a really hard question for me to answer really because I have seen so many. Borat is really funny, and would be high up there on my list, as would the Ali G movie. Meet the Fockers was on telly here at the weekend and it was very funny to. There are so many to choose from. Some of the films that Adam Sandler is in are funny to. I like all types of comedy movies. All the Police Academy ones were great to. I could go on, but I cant remember the names of many more. But if I do, I,ll be back.

The last movie I watched was an Asian movie that was released in 2008 called Champions. It is a great martial arts movie and I really enjoyed it. It has lots of action scenes and fighting scenes. I try my best to watch movies like that because it is so involved not only in the fighting but the dialog. I speak Cantonese and the audio in the movie was Cantonese as well. So for those Cantonese speakers you can watch it but I do not know any subbed with English.
God bless

Keep it in mind and get them both if you have a chance when they come out. You will love them both. Guarantee! :)
"Confessions of a Shopaholic", I have seen only the previews. I wanted to go see it, just never got around to it. I think this one is out on DVD. I will have to get it. That looks like a good movie. Did you like it?

I went the last day of July to see The Ugly Truth and I loved it. When that comes out on video I am definitely going to buy it. I wanted to see The Proposal but I just never went to see it. I'm sure I would like it too because the previews looked really good on that movie. I'll rent it when it comes out on dvd and if I like it then I'll probably buy it too. There is another movie coming out called The Time Traveler's Wife that looks good by the previews so I might try to go see that when it comes out.

SurveyPrincess09, I have not been to the movies for years so I couldn't say what the best movie I have seen lately at the movies was. I can tell you what my favourite movie is though. My favourite movie is the 2006 movie Fearless. It is loosely based on the life of Huo Yuanjia, a famous chinese martial artist who challenged foreign fighters in highly publicised events, restoring pride and nationalism to China at a time when Western Imperialism and Japanese manipulation were eroding the country during the last few years before the birth of the Republic of China.
I believe Fearless is an extraordinarily good movie. I really felt the pain of the character Li Lianjie portrayed, Huo Yuanjia. This is without a doubt my favourite movie and I am always recommending it to the people I know.

This is great. I have to say, I've never seen a movie from China. I've seen quite a few movies from India. I will check it out for sure. I like foreign movies. I was born in Europe-Romania. Came to US when I was 12 years old. :)
Thank you for your response and recommendations.
