My latest worry is regarding my weight. Yesterday, I got the sad news that my weight is increased by 2.5 Kg. I am worried and planned for one month action plan to reduce my weight. As the first step, I walked twenty minutes from my hostel to office. I had a lot of peanut candies last month, I think it contributed a lot to my weight.
Do you care about your weight?
Do you take the risk of not eating your favorite food to manage your weight?

I am not so worried about my weight. I think the most important thing is not being too fat, and the body is balanced, then that is fine. I love to eat too, so I will not stop eating my favorite food, but just eat less. Few years before, when I realize that I was getting fatter, I try to eat less and splitted up a meal to two, it works. My weight was reduced from 67 back to 57. And it didn't cost me anything. I was satisfied with the result.
Happy myLotting:)

It is a great thing if you can easily reduce the body weight. Many people can't do that. I have heard that it is difficult to reduce body weight than increasing it. I have a flexible body too. Now, I have decided to walk for 40 minutes a day and reduce 1/4 th of the food I eat. I am waiting for the results. Thanks for the response.

well i didn't finish reading ur question because it was kinda long, but i understand ur need of help. first of all, the fact that your Puerto Rican doesn't mean u have to be over weigthed, im Puerto Rican too and im skinny, its not on the blood either, and the fact that ur family is overweighted too doesn't mean that makes u one just bcuz of that, unless ur family teached u since little to eat the same things, then we have a fact.
theres a fact, its a little overweight, altough sorry to put it this way, but this isnt the right place to come, every one has somewhere else to go other than yahoo answers, you can speak with a nutricionist. as u said, it is kinda unhealthy, i suggest u go to a nutricionist and get a proper diet wich will involve eating a certain food and making a certain daily excersise. if u wana loose weight to a healthy number, u gota work it, and it will involve u wont eat the same things u have always eat. i suggest u go to a nutricionist and get a diet, if they tell u to excersise u do it, dont give up cuz i know its hard, u keep trying and ull get succes, dont give up.

Ever since I put on a lot of weight 26 years ago due to having hypothyrodism ( took doctors 9 years to find out why) I have had a battle with weight. The meds were not always right and I would gain. I need to lose over 100 lbs and have lost 29 lbs and sitting on a plateu right now it is frusterating. I am not healthy as I should or need to be. I do water aerobics and eat healthy, salads, and avoid a lot of fattening foods. I do allow special occassions to indulge like my birthday but then go right back on the weight loss program. I might not get there for another two years but I will get there with constant help and exercise and staying with it.

I also have an issue with eating. I live in a hostel and here we have a wonderful cook. I just keep eating because I like the taste of the food and it is provided unlimited. I can't control myself from doing that. I also eat a lot when I am tensed or worried about something. Thanks for the response both of you.

Yes I often worried about my weight. I easily gain weight for the past 3 years I
gained so much weight. I observed everytime I lose weight I usually gain weight after and usually it is much that what I lost. It is my frustration for years now how to get back to my weight 3 years ago. I tried to exercise 4 times a week but my problem is everytime I'm tired I'm tend to overeat.

I am really soo much concerned about my health issues and specially weight but the problem is that i am a lazy kind of person i am about 20 Kgs overweight earlier on New year (2009) i have decided that i will maintain my weight in this year but still after 8 months i have not started any practical activity for it. That is all my laziness. Now just few days back i have bought new joggers to start jogging and now i am doing it regularly. Lets see what it gives me in return.

I am happy to hear that you are jogging daily. Keep doing it because 20 kilograms is a big deal and it is high time to work on your weight. I was overweight by 2.5 kilograms when I started this discussion, but by walking and exercising (not regularly, because I am lazy) I was able to get down it by 1 kilogram. Last weekend I checked my weight and I am so happy to find that it got reduced by 1.5 Kg. Thanks for the response.

My weight was always between 55-60 kilograms for the last one year. I was at sixty for the last five months and I was proud that I could maintain it. Two months ago I moved to a hostel and the food is very good here. So, I forgot my limits and started eating a lot which resulted in putting on weight.
Now, I am 62.5 Kgs. I am supposed to have only 57.5 kilograms according to my hieght. I really need to work seriously to cut down my weight. Thanks for the response. Do you know any exercises to flatten tummy?

Yes, I am concerned about my weight. But, try as I might, I can't seem to lose any. I eat relatively healthy, I don't overeat. I think when I hit my mid-30's, my metabolism just shut down and I'm going to have to do something drastic to get it back under control

I wish I knew what to do! lol I can exercise 3-4x per week, eat healthy and still not lose a lousy pound... getting very frustrating. I hear about all these "diet pills" and such, but most of them always seem to end up with long-term health issues too so I really am at a loss. I can't afford to hire a nutritionist or personal trainer so I'm just doing the best I can.

What do you do to get hte metabolism back? Please share your tips and tricks with me. I am in late twenties and now a days I am walking a lot and doing exercise to reduce my tummy. I think it works out pretty fine and I can reliaze the difference. The problem is I am lazy to do exercise continuously. I will quit once in a while and restart it. Thanks for the response.

yes, I am also worried about my weight, and I often talk with my friends that I want to lose weight.
But I am to lazy to do sports, so sometimes I give up my supper, but I know it is not a health way.
So, I am trying my best to lose weight by health method.

It is not heatly to skip a meal. I used to skip breakfast and later came to know that it is dangerous and stopped doing it. The best thing is to reduce the amount of the meal. That is what I am doing now. I am lazy to do sports. Now, I decided to walk forty minutes per day. Let me try this for one month and see the difference. Thanks for the response.

I sometimes worry about my weight as i am not gaining nor thinning fast. I eat all sorts of food and i like to add some fats. But, I really could not large meals as i easily feel full. The, i even take multi-vitamins. but, my weight is still 45kg. and my sister think I am too thin. While others says that I look young because than my youngest sister as i look small and thin. Basically, I have to say my problem is to gain weight and not to reduce it. But, i could not easily gain fats as my body metabolism is fast and I do like to moves a lot.

You are lucky to have a body like that. It is good to be in normal weight. My body is a different type. I will put on weight if I eat a lot for a week, but at the same time if I control my food for a week, it will come down.
My best friend Sheena has a problem with her weight. She is very thin and skinny. She wants to put on weight. She is eating a lot to put on weight, but there is no result. Her father also has the same thin body. I think it is heriditary factor also. Thanks for the response.

I'm a little worries that I might be underweight. I want to gain weight and I eat a large amount of food but it doesn't help. I definitely can eat my favorite food, mango, without worry, but since I'm trying to gain weight then I don't know if losing out on different foods would really become a problem.

I think it is better to be under weight than be over weight. My friend Asha is under weight and wants put on weight. She had dates and honey for some time and it worked out well. You an also try having food with lots of nutrients than eating too much of daily routine food. Thanks for the response.

Yes. I really concern about my weight. I have reduced around 22Kgs in 6 months time. It all happened since i suffered from an Appendics infection 8 months ago and my doctor told me that I am 20Kgs over weight and termed my thing as Mild Obesity. Hence I started to run vigorously in Marina beach every evening after my work hours and I have successfully reduced 22kgs and now i feel chik and trim. Really it has brought a good change in me and i love this. I never went on a strict diet but running regularly has brought a great change in me and i love this one. According to me, it is absoultely un-necessary to stop eating our favourite food just inorder to reduce our weight. All we need is a regular exercise and that will do miracles.

As a part of my procedure to exercise today onwards I started walking for around 40 minutes a day. I am waiting to see the change. Thanks for the response.

i don't care much about my weight. When i was at my twenties i didn't care about my weight and looking because my boyfriend said that he paid no attention to these things. i was a little fat at that time because i went out to have a snack almost every night after 9 pm . Now after i gave a birth to my kid i become thin again because i have no much appetite for much food now . i just feel tired and want to have more sleep .

Usually it is the other way happens in most of the cases. People will put on weight once they give birth to baby. I have seen many women like that. They also get big tummies after delivery. Your case is different. Anyway, it is good that you have a good body now and a good husband who doesn't care much about it. Most of the husband's care a lot about this issue. Thanks for the response.

I am a bit worried about my weight. I am at an average weight, but I am afraid I could become overweight as I tend to eat a lot and crave food all the time. I care about my weight, but sometimes I make bad decisions that might make me fat.

I am also average weight. I am only four kilograms more than the weight which I am supposed to have accoring to my weight, but I am concerned about that. I need to exercise more at this point of time, otherwise it will keep on increasing and reach a point, where I wont' be able to work on it and reduce it easily. Thanks for the response.

I am always monitoring my weight as well as my body. My worked involves some physical activities and I conduct emergency care courses. So it is really important for me to be fit. Gladly I have not encountered being overweight. Well, I can always control my food intake every time I take in food.

Ooooooooooh! thats a touchy matter i wuld never like to discuss in public!
Until recent months i was never bothered about my weight/body mass. I assumed i looked prim for my height and age. I was even proud that i could maintain the same weight for 3 years in a row! Then I became pregnant and now i'm shapeless and plump. I have started to fret about my weight more often than ever and i think this is causing dpression which in turn is making me fatter day by day - ooooooooh!

I am sorry Divkris. It is my dream to have an appealing body like girls in movies. I want to exercise and walk daily, but I am lazy to walk since I have free trasportation arranged by my hostel. I am also lazy to get up early and exercise. I think it is high time for me to start working on it because my husband is coming to meet me on December. I don't want to give him a shock. Thanks for the response.

I agree that the shape of the body is important that the weight. It is a fact that you won't be able to control teh shape once you put on a lot of weight. It is a hurdle for me to reduce my tummy. I often dream about having a flat tummy when I see girls in movies. Thanksf or the response.

hi daliaj,
It is grace of god that i havenot ever put on weight but like a normal teenage girl till 3 years back i was so worried about getting fat but I stopped worrying about my weight around 2 years ago.. when I found out that I could eat all the food that I want, just as long as I get enough exercise. I don't really weigh myself anymore, cause sometimes the numbers really would make you sad or something, so I just look at myself, see if I do feel okay.. and then that's it. I think what you feel is more important than what is written in the weighing scale also no one ever told me i put on even 1 inch of weight
