My mother-in-law has that crippling fear of thunderstorms. Everyday she watches the news at every possible time it shows and flips through every news channel to see if they confirmed the last channels forecasts. It's funny sometimes because if there is a 20% chance of rain, she goes running over to her sister's house, or my house if she doesn't catch her sister home. If the clouds turn two shades of grey, you know she's coming. When all else fails and she has no choice but to stay home, she turns off everything electric and unplugs them, so as not to be electrocuted from the lightning strikes. The only thing she wants to hear is the sound of the storm and hope it doesn't get close enough to harm her.

I used to be the same way lol. Its called astraphobia, i wrote an article on it. When it's up I can link it you and you can have your aunt read it. It will help her alot lol. I used to watch the weather channel all day when I knew a storm was comming and watch the red blob get closer and closer on the doppler radar lol

I'm not afraid of storms at all.I enjoy watching them.I saw a live tornado where I lived once. That was scary.I stood out on my porch watching it because I've never seen one and didn't know what it was at the time.Where I live tornadoes are rare.It looked scary.
