Ever since the rise of the .com, i have met a lot of fantastic people online, personal and business. But back in the early days meeting people online was perceived as creepy by the offline world.
The internet is far more social and connected since these days, but even today that 'creepiness' is still some what present. But how many of you have formed online friendships with people who became even closer than those friends in the offline world?

Do you have closer relationshipos online than offline?
Hello faridii, Yes I meet people online just about everyday and I form nice close relations with them, I feel that I can talk with many of them on just about any subject and I hope they feel that they can come to me if they have problems or want to talk about something. All of my online friends and relationships are very special. As far as the creepiness goes, I don't really dwell in that area and while I realize that caution must be used in just about every endeavor if life, I don't see how being online should be much different. Thanks for posting this though, It was a great discussion. Also could you please add me as a friend and no more creepy talking okay friend? thanks in advance! happy mylot!

Well I try to keep my online friends to a minimum. I will eventually meet with them if they seem harmless but I don't intend to keep them just an online friend forever. The truth is there more is communication happening with offline friends, like physical contact and nonverbal language etc that makes it more meaningful.

I still prefer to have close relation with my offline friends. So far, i had been close with my offline friends, and even some of them i regards as my sisters. I do have some good online friends, but i prefer not to share too much stories with them. I prefer to regards them as my casual friends for chatting and exchange news only. So, i still prefer my offline friendships more than my online friendships.

I seldom meet people that I have known online. I used to do it though and I have to admit that those 'friends' that I get to know are pretty creepy. I gave up meeting online friends offline long ago after all those awful incidents. =\

Throughout the years that i have been online i have made lots of friends and some of them i have even met...but i would not say that i would get closer to them than my offline friends..I can share stuff with my offline friends that i can't with my online friends. And offline friends are there most of the times when you need a shoulder to cry on.

Online relationship is growing on a lot these also the growth of social sites is at a good pace. I have lot many of friends some are local friends but some are from other cities and countries. I only have friends and do not have a very close relationship. The growth of users using social networks is increasing. Many people take the advantage in many different ways. Some online marketers market their products. Insurance agents display their benefit plans to the users and thus relationship is been developed in many ways.

Hello friend,
Yes, even I have met a lot of people on line and made good friends with them in a short span of time. However, I would not share my secrets with them. I am not a very open person hence I have a very small group of friends in which I feel comfortable.I cannot compare both the kinds of friends.all I can say is that both are really supportive and would turn up with good advices. You expect more from real life friends that you make in school or college and you expect a lot less from online friends. That's one reason why they would seem to be nicer
