I like to look good and would say I have my own style. I like to shop for clothes and handbags. I dont have alot of money so I do shop at Walmart and other stores that arent that expensive. It doesnt bother me. If I like it and it looks good, price is right, it's mine. However, my sneakers must be a name brand. Especially Nike-Air force, Adidas-shell toes or top tens, and Reebok-classics and princess. I am not a size 9 so I dont find alot of clothes my size in the more expensive stores. I have always been able to find inexpensive items that look good and the price is great! I am a handbag finatic. I look at a persons handbag or backpack before anything. I love a second hand bag as much as I love a Coach or Kathy bag. My husband is different in that he believes you get what you pay for. If you buy cheap, you get cheap. He also will not settle when it comes to sneakers. He wants what he wants no settling. My daughters, however are Brand name hoochies.(Its all in fun, please dont get upset over the name)lol. My daughter and I were shopping for school backpacks. We found two of the exact same bag. The only difference was that one was $10 no name and the other was $50 Jansport. We had to buy the $50 Jansport. She is very particular in what she wears. She wont wear a polo shirt unless its from Aeropostale. She is a character. My older daughter is now on her own so she is beginning to see that it would be cheaper and no difference if she got the one from a department store rather that specialty store. She is coming around. How about you and yours? Are they name brand Hoochies?lol Please understand that the name is harmless and not meant to offend. Me and my children were talking and we made it up in fun. Please share your opinion on Brand name hoochies... dl

When I was younger I cared alot more than I do now. I just cant afford it. I do however, allow my daughter to wear name brand on some things only because I know how cruel kids can be. She is good though. She wears stuff from Walmart. Shirts, jeans, etc. She did ask for a Jansport backpack. I went to price them, $50. I told her hell no. This was last year. This year she wanted the same. I happened to go to the mall with a friend and happened to look into Marshalls. I saw the backpacks and just for curiosity sake I checked the price. WHAT? $15 you know I bought that sucka! I went home and she was so happy. I felt good that I could give her something that she wanted. Especially since last year she didnt make a big deal about not getting it. That's how I do it. I look for sales and cheap store coupons. We also shop at Tello's alot. Jeans for $10 all the time. Tellos is a big name store. Also try A.J. Wright. I have gotten tons of stuff under $20. Jeans like Apple BOttoms, Rocawear, etc. Sometimes I get things for less than that. This way I save money and make my daughter happy. dl

My kids are grown up....my oldest daughter is into buying medium priced clothes....doesn't need a particular brand....my youngest however has to have the brand name....my son....either or.....I personally don't buy a certain brand. I buy what I like no matter where I find it.....Herberger's or walmart.....makes no difference as long as I like it.

I have no interest in brand names what-so-ever. If it's inexpensive, and I like the item in question, I'll buy it and use it. I am not interested in buying something just because of a name on it. I never understood people who'd spend large amounts of money on a friggen name!

I do pay attention on brand. I think if we can pay same money why not choose the one who has famours brand. However i don't definitely think brand can represent quality. I always balance between brand and quality when i'm shopping.
also i think even we don't buy brand products but we still need to know the brands. It's a part of life.

I never go for branded items before. I always look for cheaper one. But I alfready learned my lessons. I believe that buying branded and quality items save me in the long run compared.
For my bra for example, I used to buy those bras being sold in the street. ANd I ended using them fvor only 3 to 5 times as it sags already. But the bra I bought from triumph lasts for years.
I still buy some lesses price items but I am more choosy now.

I want name brand shoes, because they give me the best support for my knees and back. I particularly like the Reebok Princess. Other clothes are fine from Wal Mart or department stores or even the thrift shop. Actually name brand clothes often show up at the thrift shop. My kids are like me. Hubby is fond of LL Bean shirts.

brands name are important as they work quite nicely than others and for long time also. But if we choose other infamous company products then its has no guarantee whether it will work for even a month or not.
So if u can afford the price of a good company product then u should choose the brand one and if u want to check or take a chance of choosing others then it can go out improper working soon.

Hey! Great discussion! For me it's not so important... of course sometime I really want to get cool brand clothes or shoes, sport inventory and other. I find it so-so, because I think most of people are buying this items only for showing others... (Nike, Rolex, Lacoste and other). Of course this brands are cool, but i think that other firms aren't so bad. I really like my clothes even they aren't any cool brand production!
Have a nice day! Happy myLotting!

I am not a brand conscious person but rather price conscious. Designer bags, shoes or clothes may look to one person but not to others. So I would rather choose a type of shoes, bags or clothes which suited my lifestyle. But I admire brands such as Estee Lauder, L'Oreal, Revlon, Maybelline and Lancome-Paris for cosmetics. Girbaud, Gucci, Lacoste for wallet, bags and blouses/Tshirts. Timex for watches. These brands are great and adorable.

I don't go for brand names when i can get the same stuff for a nominal price. This happens mainly for cloths, shoes and accessories. However, i buy food products/ provisions of a branded company and from a brnded store - you can never take risk on this.
Many of my friends are brand freaks and boast that they go for only branded and quality items :S

I like brand name in alot of things only because it is better quality and it looks better and lasts longer also. I do like off brand things too, that have good enough quality to satisfy my needs.

hi dloveli I love walmart as I can afford their prices and there
'I dont mind what brand it is if it fits me and is of good
material I will buy it. I am picky on groceries though as some store brands do not cut it compared to my favorite brands but I watch the sales on my favorite brands so I come out okay there. I know a lot of teenagers are really brand conscious, but me I have to watch
my pennies so I am not so picky.however in sports shoes I do think you get what you pay for as poorly fitting shoes can really make you feel sick. I think now with the economy so bad a lot of people are being less brand conscious and more price conscious.

Well, for me,I buy brand sometimes, but not too ofen. For same small items, like clothes, shoes, and daily necessity,i don't care much about brand or not as soon as it ues fine or works properly,as you will not use for a long time.
While, for some other items, such as TV set, personal computer,I do care very much about brand,as you got to use them for many years, then the quality becomes very very important. And for big brand like HP or Siemens, they offer pretty good afte-sale service and the gurantee is very long also.

I don't usually buy stuffs because of the brand. But when I find something that I think is good on me whether it is branded or not, I buy it. I also make sure that the things I buy are right for their price. I also love those cheap thrills and last-piece-good buys. :)

Quality brands are important considerations but at the same time what is important is, similar product with branded qualities then why to only go for branded ones only.
I usually for the quality rather than brand name as branded products are often very expensive and are unaffordable to normal pay earning guy like me.
