The new X-Box scam!

Yep, Microsoft have updated X-Box Live today as part of scam which screws over all their X-Box Arcade console customers!
All my saved games are on the memory card which came with my console, it took me a long time to get that far on those games and I'm not willing to delete them.
However, to be able to use the arcade console ever again, I MUST update it from X-Box Live with an update that is too big to fit on the memory card. In fact, the update takes up a whole memory card on it's own!
Yet I am now unable to play games at all, even offline, unless I update and to do that I need to go out and buy a hard drive.
It's a total scam. I have just lost every ounce of respect that I had for Microsoft, as far as I am concerned they are now just another scammer.
and to think I could have bought a PS3 and played online for free. I'm even still paying for my X-Box Live Gold subscription yet I can't even use it! Microsoft have just screwed themselves over too, PS3 is the way to go and everyone knows it, hell most people have got one now and I don't blame them. My X-Box 360 arcade console is now just a useless lump of metal and plastic than cannot be used...for anything!

X-box arcade don't have hard drive but a built-in hard drive. It is true that you need to upgrade in order for you to download games and play online. Did you try to call on the customer service and ask information how to upgrade your x-box. It is a waist of money and time and even you cannot play if you just used a memory card. AS the customer service if they can send you a free hard drive or how to upgrade you x-box online. I'm sure they can help you...

No chance of getting it for free, that's why they've done it. So that they con all their arcade customers out of even more money. What's the point in releasing the arcade version of the console if they're going to make it unusable? if I want a hard drive or even just another memory card I have to go out and buy it from a shop, they will not provide anything for free. Microsoft are the biggest scammers in the world right now, but they get away with it because they're Microsoft!

That's rather odd that your Xbox arcade doesn't even let u play the offline games anymore. My younger brother has an Xbox arcade console, and he hasn't done the new update, and he still can play his xbox, infact he was just playing it last night.

I was playing on their last night fine too. The update was released today as they have updated the entire X-Box Live system. As soon as I turned it on today it told me I needed the update before I could play only. I tried to update it and it said you need 128MB free for the update, you will not be able to use your console until it has been updated. And now I can't use it at all because I don't have any room to update it. What a waste of money!
