What do you do with the plastic that is around your bottles or cans?

What happens if you just throw them in the trash? Have you thought about it? Did you know that when the garbage goes to the dump, that the birds are stopping by to pick up things for their nests? They sometimes get caught in the plastic and die because they can't get free! We always cut them into small enough pieces so that they won't get their little beaks caught in these things.
Tell me what you think and do about these kind of problems.

Plastic is a non bio degradable it takes almost hundreds of year to decompose. Such plastics are dumped far away from the city i have heard that the municipal people burn it. I am not sure about it.

It is excellent that you cut up your plastic rings! Unfortunately, it's not just the birds because when some of that trash gets into the water and floats out to the river and sea, or a trash barge dumps part of the landfill in the ocean, then these become an even bigger hazard. Every year, creatures such as turtles, otters, fish, and other wildlife (including many types of birds), get entrapped in these plastic rings. Please take 30 extra seconds to cut your rings and help keep our wildlife safe!
