I was wondering can ferrets eat lettuce and pickles? Will it hurt them to eat fruit and veggies at all?

No, veggies are NOT good for ferrets. They are CARNIVORS. Look at their teeth. They are designed for eating meat.
They do not have the proper digestive system for fruits or veggies. I have have had ferrets for years, I have 4 right now. Veggies are NOT good for them AT ALL.
there is alot of bad information about ferrets our there. i highly recomend you buy a book called "Ferrets for Dummies". It is a VERY accurate information book that will teach you everything you need to kn ow about owning a ferret.

I've never heard of that book, but I think I'll get it. I posted a comment here, so tell us what you think about what I said. Maybe you can recomend more dietary supplements? You seem to know more about our little carpet sharks than I do.

Veggies are perfect. Not sure about the pickles though!
We just lost ours last weekend. They live to about 3 1/2 to 5 so enjoy yours all you can. They are a treasure that is for sure! The vet told us we had a great grandpa ferret!
