The full time job I have takes hours and hours of my time each day. I just have no chance to go around doing any shopping on the week days, except just to drop by at convenience store. So, I do shopping just once a week on Sundays and get all the things I need for the whole week. How about you dear friend ? Do you go shopping every day or just once a week like me ?

Usually I just shop once a week. Occasionally I go out to shop every other week. I hate going to shop for groceries. I really should go every week, but I try to get by with just doing the grocery shopping a couple times a month. I really need to go grocery shopping now. I have mushroom and couscous in my fridge right now, but that's it.

Yes, that's how I do it to. I would go grocery shopping once in about two weeks only, and would buy enough for two weeks, have them stocked up so that I won't have to be going out in the bad weather conditions. Oh, mushroom is good !

I go to the super when I need things that are important. I start making a new list as soon as I get back with the things I forgot to buy. As the list gets bigger, my need get bigger too. When there´s something important (no bread, no onions, no potatoes for instance) it´s time to move. But I live alone so it´s very easy to make food for one with odds and ends.
As for other typre of shopping, I just don´t do it. All my clothes are very old (and well kept) or given to me as presents at birthdays and Christmas or I buy them when I travel.
I have discovered that food is much more expensive at athe convenience stores near my house and the super is not more than 8 blocks away anyway.
Take care

Yes, ma'am, I go to the grocery shops just once a week too. For me, since I don't do cooking at home, the items I need are very simple, just pre-cooked items, canned food, coffee, milk, sugar, etc. Just very simple items. Doing shopping just once a week or even once in two weeks is good enough for me.

I cook at home all my meals, but even doing that, one can go to the super just once a week. I have a small pantry will a little of all kinds of dry goods and the freezer holds meats and fish to last for over a week.

Well, staying within the budget, and staying away from wasting money is good. I agree with that. I would not spend money on things which are not absolutely needed either. That holds good for groceries and other household items too.

I used to be the person that would run to the store every day, but not any more. I discovered that if I make a list of all of the things that I need from the store and then go to the store one time in a week to get all of those things I save a whole lot of money. Yes, there will be the occasional things that we have to run after maybe one other time per week, but I do major grocery shopping only one time per week. It is just impossible to run into the store for just a couple of things and not come out with much more than you intended to get.

Oh yes, you are managing your shopping plan very well. I certainly agree with you. Doing shopping just once a week and get all the things one needs for the coming week. That's the way to manage the expenses and also the time.

We normally do shopping once a week, but it usually depends on how much milk is left in the fridge. In other words, if milk runs out, it means time to go shopping. :)
I tend to keep household shopping as an once-in-a-while opportunity to relax from work. Daily frequency will spoil that excitement. On the other hand, when things are really pressing it's virtually impossible to get away to do shopping. Some of my friends just do shopping online. Foods are delivered to the door at the time you want; no need to swear yourself between supermarket shelves, very efficient.

Yes, online shopping is get very popular. Many people are doing that these days, and I understand the prices are quite reasonable too. I have not been doing online shopping yet, but I think I should give some thought to it.

Sunday is usually the day booked for shopping, to stock up things needed for the week ahead. I don't do cooking at home. So, the things I need to buy are very simple items, like bread, butter, milk, sugar, and so on. I do buy microwaveable dinner packs.

Hello Sarah. Nice to see you. Yes indeed, expenditures should be managed within the budget limits. That's what I do too. There are a couple of economy shops near my house, and those are my favorites. Thank you for your response.

Hi greenline!
It depends. I do not shop for non-essentials very often. Actually, I just go shop when there is a need for it. Or, if there is an anticipation for some future needs. And when I shop, I make sure I buy everything that I should buy. That's more practical I suppose.

That is certainly very wise. In fact, when I go out shopping, I would not buy things which are not really essential at the time. And, I would not go for those luxury items either. Necessity comes at the fore-front always.

I do it once twice a week. Couples supermarkets in my area start their sale week on Friday and the other on Sunday. I already make list what I need and where I should go since Wednesday when their flyers arrive in my mailbox. Make it a lot easier.

I get stacks of flyers in my mailbox too. There are so many sales items making one feel like stocking up everything needed. No doubt, they do offer very ceap sales prices on different items. I will be doing shopping this weekend not to miss the sales.

Very good. You and your husband are managing your shopping plans very well. Certainly, going shopping just once a week is good enough for the essential items. There may be some items which are needed unexpectedly. Those can be picked up any time.

Just once a month ? So, you would keep a stock of things enough for a month. Well, that is a good plan, indeed. Saves a lot of time. Have a nice day.

Hello. Oh yes, I have gone through those university years tto, and I can well understand how busy one gets, especially in the Senior Year. Just like you said, no time even to go to a restaurant. You are very hard working, I know. Wish you all the success. ( You must have graduated by now, right ? Congratulations ! )

I always do it on a weekly basis so that means I am not wasting time during the week running around for bits and bobs. Also if you buy things in larger supermarkets they tend to be cheaper and you can also then buy things in bulk as they need to last you at least a week, if not two!

Yes, that's perfectly right. I don't go shopping frequently. I would go to the supermarkets just once a week, or some times once in two weeks, and buy bulks. That's cheaper, and would get the shopping points which can be redeemed.

I have found that the internet allows me to spend less times in the shops now! I hate busy supermarkets so I shop online as much as possible. I get the bulk things every couple of weeks and just get fresh fruit and veg as and when its needed.

Yes, many people are doing shopping online these days. I have not done that yet, but I think I should think about that too. Probably much more easy and more convenient for certain things, though not for every thing.

hi greenline!^^
i go shopping once every two weeks or once a month. i usually do it on a weekday after work. i seldom do it on weekends because i get too lazy to go out of the house. ^^;; i buy enough of my personal supplies that would last for a long time so that i don't have to go back to the store every now and then. but sometimes i wouldn't have enough money for a large stock so i would go back to the store after a week or two. ^^

Hello. How are you ? Yes, I understand what you are saying. With a full-time job, one cannot be spending too much time for shopping things. One can list down things needed, and do the shopping for them once or twice a month.

I don't like having to take the kids to the store with me, so I usually wait until my husband is home and I can go and shop for the whole week. I occasionally make quick stops in for fresh produce in the middle of the week, but that's about it.

Hello. That's what I usually do too, just make a quick stop on the way back home from work, and pick up groceries short at home. For other items, I would see if I need to buy when I stroll around in the malls over the weekends.

Hello. I understand you would need to stock up essential items since the stores are a but far away. That would certainly be very wise to go shopping just once in a while as needed. Sounds like you are living in a very pleasant environment.

I also shop just once a week :) That's for groceries. There are only two of us in the household so there's really no need to stock much groceries in the fridge. It also helps me on my budget and planning if I shop every week and it also saves me a lot of money. For clothes and other things though, I shop only for like once or twice a month, depending on the budget. lol.

Hello. Yes, I can sense you are managing your budget very wisely. That's the way to do it. I always have a monthly budget too, and I keep all expenditures within the budget. I would not go for things which I don't really need.

I walk around in the shopping malls to buy things needed, and also just for relaxation. Yes, I also like to keep things within the budget, and to prorioritise on the things to buy. Won't buy unless it is absolutely required.

I don't go shopping every day because I'm usually quite tired after school on weekdays. Sometimes I go on the weekend and sometimes I'm so tired I let someone else do it. But if it's important I'll usually take time out of my schedule to go shopping and buy whatever is needed.

Very good that there are people around you to help you with the shopping when you are busy and tired. Yes, with the job at one hand, it does get pretty tiring having to go out shopping for the day's needs. I do go shopping just once in a while too.
