The economic recession has many affects on every aspect of our daily lives. When it comes to consideration of unnecessary cost, we need to cut it down as much as possible. Recently, I heard a lot of people trying to cutting down their exercise cost from the gym, instead, they would perform their exercise routine at home. That is one way of cutting costs. My girlfriend just cancelled her membership from the La fitness, and bought a used treadmill to perform her exercise at home. Would you also did the same recently?

My dear clorissa, I didn't know you'd been going to a gym, I have to advise against that right away my dear. It is not a good place to meet young men as they are likely to see you at your worst, possibly bedraggled and most possibly perspiring, these are not nice things to show. You can exercise perfectly well in your bedroom my dear, try running on the spot and touching your toes.

I'm actually extremely fortunate. Despite all the drawbacks to my small town, we have many avenues for fitness available for absolutely free. We have a free swimming pool, free outdoor tennis courts/baseball diamonds, and recently the town installed a free outdoor gym. Everything is less than a 10 minute walk from my house, so I partake as much as time allows. I also got a Wii Fit given to me after purchasing my Wii, and that helps for when I couldn't be bothered to go outside.

exercising at the gym is much more effective, i think. because you have expectations to live up to. other people will make you work for it. and you'd get tired easily at home exercising alone. at the very least, exercising at home would not be very consistent compared with being in the gym.

I think I did the similar thing like your girlfriend did. I like swimming a lot. Last year I was a member of local swimming poor and I went to swim regularly. This year when the membership expired I did not buy new one. So now I just occasionally go to swimming. I walk in park more than before. Luckily I did not suffer a lot from the change. I have met a few friends when I was walking. So it’s not too bad.

The recession has had a big impact upon people all over the world. May partner works at a theatre and has said that bookings have dropped dramatically in the last 6 months. It seems things deemed unneccesary including leisure activities have been affected. The gym has been something I have never been able to afford and having studied Sport Science can train myself at home with some relevant equipment. It is easy to do and I am sure many people are doing the same. It is a good way to keep costs down at this difficult time.

In reality it is some years that i reduced costs like that for example fitness time...so normally i will do it but at home and so i don't have a membership to a structures like that!!Surely when you are new about these kind of hngs i think is ok starting from a fitness center i this way you can learn which exercice you need and the correct way to work with them.!!

For awareness of challenging current and future, we are more careful about spending money. Instead of fashion, we come back to leisure. Instead of paid gym, we go outdoors for exercising. The change may seem a lowering of position, but in essence, no dimming but actually more natural and green way for health. Why not?

I was so lucky to have my fitness center membership paid, but the same chain doesnt exist where im living now, so unfortuately i cant use that. So right now i do my exercises at home, since im still a student i try to save where its most practical... Thats why i often purchase bigger amounts of food, and get the same 2 days in a row, it can save you upwards 35% of the costs.

Actually, I did make a choice on fitness recently. I have been unemployed for 9 months so I needed a way to stay fit and not spend money. I was headed to the laundromat to do laundry and picked up a Runner's World magazine to read. I was hooked. I figured I could run and it wouldn't cost me a thing! I have been doing jsut that. I have already ran two 5K's and have one more scheduled for this season. I promised myself a pair of running shoes when I worked up to 2 miles. It took me awhile but I did it. The shoes cost me less than two months at a gym would have cost! Races much less than half a gym payment to register... so I figure I'm saving and I am in shape!

Actually unless you are targeting a specific muscle group, gym is not really needed. Fitness is free. A brisk walk around your block is very good for fitness. If you feel that this takes care of lower limbs, just hold rocks in your fists and walk, your upper limbs are also taken care of!. Learn Yoga, its almost free. I ts like having a gym for the whole of your life. If you want to do aerobics, download free videos from the net and start right away! Consult your doctor before you start any exercise! I have been doing all this all my life, Never have been inside a Gym.

Actually due to the economic status that we are currently in, I too was forced to cut back on unnecessary expenses such as the gym. My membership was less than $20 per month but I found that the extra $20 came in more handy around the homefront. It's sad that only the wealthy can afford the luxury of being able to go to help clubs when there are so many less fortunate people who could benefit from this added activity for one reason or another.

Yes, I have bough a treadmill recently as the local fitness club is charging an insane amount for their membership. It is outrageous how expensive the recession has made everything.
