I am also waiting for Windows 7. Even though the beta is out I wouldn't really prefer messing with it because of all the security issues it may encounter. Also I do not wait to be test bunnies to the people that like to infect peoples cpus. I would prefer just waiting for the real release and then test it out.
I am currently using vista and is feeling okay. Not totally excited to have vista. It just feels more like it was forced to move away from XP because vista is the standard operating system know when purchasing a PC. I can no longer require for XP as the OS for my cpu when I purchase it.
I think stores would be great if they were able to offer the OEM change of the OS. Because that way they can brand there name even better. Imagine of Bestbuy would do such a thing, you'll probably support there high prices anyways because of that.
God bless

Hi, Jen. As for me i prefer to use XP than VISTA. Because when i bought my first laptop it was already loaded with a Vista OS. But when i installed the ENUTV, it did't work. It did not open. It says that the software is not compatible with the operating system. And there were still a lot of circumstances that some of the applications i try to install is not compatible. So on my next laptop i decided to choose XP. That's all i can share. Cheers!

I've got vista, and I think it's much better than XP. I find it easier to navigate through files and folders, and i like the program compatibility ;)

but i think there is an issue of incompatibility with so many programs with vista that is why many people don't like it. and it is not user friendly and not easy to install as xp is. if only it is easy to use like xp would definitely want to install that instead of xp. but i don't think that my low specs of my cpu will be able to download that vista that is why i still use xp.

I have XP on my laptop and really love it. My other laptop went up recently and I bought a new desktop, it has Vista. I would probably like Vista but I need to get used to it. Not only is it a new operating system, it is also in Spanish ( I live in Mexico now) and I am having a hard time with understanding everything because it is not my native tongue.

Lets start by picking one but I know I'll regret not having to pick the other. I pick XP.
Windows Xp has many infections and viruses out there. Which makes it a unreliable platform not. But when it comes to speed if not hooked up onto the internet or connected to some source of information packet traveling then it is fast and reactive. I am afraid of XP because of just the viruses and having to ALWAYS reformat once a month because of malware or spyware, or viruses, and even trojans.
Windows Vista is great because of all the signatures and verifications it has to do. Also the better form of IPV6 coding is better with vista. So overall the security measures it takes before accessing is a lot better than XP but the loading time is slightly different but a little noticeable.
I would beware of both and just hope that Window 7 is a lot better than the previous two.
God bless

for me it's windows XP since it does not eat so much RAM unlike Vista. although computer shops nowadays recommend using vista since XP will not be reproduced anymore. there are programs that does not run on windows vista and you still have to download drivers for it. as of the moment i am waiting for Windows 7.

My operating system is Windows Vista, people may say bad things about it, but since Service Pack 1, I have had no problems at all. It has great graphical effects and makes it easy to browse through files and folders. I am looking forward to buying Windows 7 Ultimate when it comes out in October. Hope Microsoft made it even better than Vista.
