Does anyone believe in purgatory that isnt catholic?

I have thought about this and discussed this with some people. Now I am not Catholic and I know that Catholics believe in purgatory. I gave this a lot of thought. People are born and people die at different ages. Then I started thinking how you know that what were living right now is not purgatory. When people are in purgatory they have to be there for such and such time. That would explain how some people die when they are a month old or 103 years old. This is just a thought of mine. Don't mean to offend anyone by any means. What is your opinion?
