I like the drums too. But I really wish I could play the piano. My father was in the music business and as children we all had to take one year of piano lessons. After one year we could make our own decision as to whether we wanted to keep playing. I stupidly chose to stop after the one year. I really wish I had stayed with it. I think I can remember a couple of songs I played: The Theme Song to Romeo & Juliet, and Somewhere Over The Rainbow. I think I played O Canada too.
If I could afford to have a piano or full keyboard here, I would have my kids take piano lessons. I understand learning a musical instrument heightens one's IQ.

It's not financially feasible at this time for any of us to take lessons, and we are far too busy with the kids' other activities, especially soccer. I also have my writing group to contend with. Adding another activity just isn't possible, unfortunately.

wow that's great but i think yeah maybe you should have continued with the lessons... anyways still it's never too late
nice idea ... kids grasp things faster at times and i think it would really be a very nice idea if you let your kids learn piano from the earliest phase... all the best

I have always wanted to play the piano but I have never got very far with that. As I have got older I listen to alot more piano music and I would like to get lessons one day. When I was younger I had violin lessons and we couldn't afford both.

i have to say piano is a great instrument!, it is never too late to learn that........ my grandfather had both violin and a small piano, but as children we never really had much interest in them, now they seem so nice, although i have jumped into drums and my brother into guitar... i have to say piano and violin are really great instruments

I play the guitar, but not on a so good level. I can play the chords do some strumming but I can't do the finger plucking. For me, the guitar is the most wonderful instrument to listen to. Playing as a solo or as an accompaniment, there's no other musical instrument in comparison.

I am a primary school teacher. I would therefore love to be able to play the piano. It would be so useful for school hall in assemblies. It is a difficult skill to learn I think. I am not at all musically minded when it comes to playing a musical instrument. I did manage to learn to play the recorder when I was at secondary school. My singing is really awful and I believe that I am tone deaf which means I have no musical ability what so ever. My toddler son has a drum which he plays better than me.

yes my friend you will get better at it the more you practice and yeah the right method of learning is also vital to getting to play it nicely .... and you will learn faster that way, there is always a series of practices one should adopt and learn to help you learn faster... keep going friend and you will rock!

Shouldn't be a matter of wishing to play an instrument.. if you want to play it, then take the time to learn it! If you can't play, don't want to take lessons/learn and practice.. then you probably weren't destined to play! haha

I want to learn how to play the guitar. There's so many amazing songs that could be played on a guitar and not only just rocker songs but also classic music (see cannon). The drums is also a great instrument to learn how to play too. I always listen to the drum beat in music. It's great that you know how.
