I am so mad at Mylot right now

I typed out this really heartfelt, long, and well thought out response to one of my discussions, and when I am done, mylot returns me to a screen that says "please only include letters, proper punctuation, and numbers"....but all of my previous typing was gone . I don't know why that happened, and it makes me angry because i can't remember exactly what I wrote, and I wish they would have freaking told me what I did wrong, they do that with profanity, I had no profanity, and with profanity, they don't erase your message so you have to start over. I am soooooo pissed off at Mylot right now

I hate it when that happens! I know people will suggest typing it all up on notepad or something before posting, but it happens so infrequently that it seems almost pointless to do so. I know I have had it happen if I use a certain type of brackets aside from the () or {} it sucks that they erased your whole post over it! I'm sorry it happened to you, I know how frustrating it is.

It just happened to me, as I tried to start a discussion, I did not use ANY weird characters, so there was no reason for it! Thankfully, when I saw it taking forever to submit my discussions, I copied the text and was able to paste it after mylot erased it over the non-existent problem with characters. It DID finally post, but the formatting was all screwed up, all the spaces I had put between lines to make it legible were removed! Now it is a clumped together mess. Now the hyperlink I'd put in my discussion won't work since it is just smooshed in there among the sentences. I feel your pain! I think mylot is having some technical issues today, besides what we are discussing here, it is taking forever to load anything.

Hi spicy... i have this kind of problem couple days back. But i have my problem solved now. I use firefox 3.5 browser to login myLot and sometimes i face the problem like you. But after i have lazarus form recovery as my add ons at my browser, i have no worry at all. If the connection suddenly error or anything, easily i can backup what i have written before and re submitted. Just try to install this add on if you using firefox and you will fell the different.

I have had mylot go bunkers on me and cause me to lose my post also but never had that message from them. I can relate to how you feel at the moment. It is extremly frustrating when this happens. Mylots tendency to freeze up or go at a snails pace sometimes can make life really miserable. I wouldnt mind if this just did not happen again but somehow I feel that hope would be in vain for a little time to coome. Sorry you had such a bothersome experience.

As it's probably been said (several times), it always helps to quickly highlight and copy your post before you submit it. It's become a habit for me if my posts are anywhere longer than a few sentences, and it saves me the frustration I get in experiences like the one you explained.

That happened to me too several times that I lost my interest in starting a discussion. Everytime that happened to me it took me sometimes a month to start a new discussion again. I preferred to focus on responding to others discussions instead. When my mood in writing new discussion gets back, that's the only time I start to write again.

I agree with "Hair_of_the_Dog", if I want to write something long online I always write it in notepad first.

How do you manage to do that when mylot does not allow users with under 500 posts to paste things?

Unfortunately from time to time there are glitches in here to where you do end up loosing something here you are trying to post. It can happen from a little minor thing you might do, your ISP might do, or sometimes from myLot being so Slow that things like this happen as well. I know you could copy your writings first before hitting submit but many times I find that does not work much better either. In a way like everyone else in here, I think you just always have to hope for the Best and if you get to frustrated just leave here for a while finding something else to do online, and come back in here later. Wishing you the Best.

Well i think you should type your discussions somewhere else and then copy paste them, Or you can try to complaint to mylot admin also.Yesterday even i got a weird message from mylot saying that i will be banned if i dont stop using abusive language on my tags. And i was surprised as to where i have use abusive language.

I know what you are going thru because it started for me on Sunday night. I wrote two responses and the same thing happened. I didn't write anything bad at all. When I went to post the discussion it was gone and it happened again last night. So its three times for me. Its such a waste of time having to go back and rewrite what you wrote. I really don't understand what is going on with mylot.

Sorry to hear that. It happened to me once, so now I never write too long a subject. Just enough to pass on my message. But if need to I will copy all onto notepad before submitting. Cool down, sweetie, cool down.

Argh! I experienced the same thing as well. I though there was something wrong with my computer or something, and now I know that it really is mylot that is having problems. Good thing so far, I haven't experienced the same thing but it was devastating cause I lost a few posts yesterday due to this problem. *sigh*

It also happened to me last night. I guess it's an issue on their server or whatever technical difficulties they are encountering. Sometimes it timeouts and return an error. But before it happened, you will have a clue that there's something wrong on it because it will slowly respond on (the waiting thing) so if I noticed it, I will immediately copy all my writing then paste it in notepad. However, since I'm a newbie here, they won't allow me to paste exactly what I have in notepad mainly because of having no 500 whatever they called it.

I've been getting the same problem as well. I mean, how do they determine if your response includes 'only letters, proper punctuation, and numbers'? I double checked my post for all of those and it seemed perfectly fine. What's worse is that i'm not over a 500 score so I can't paste the text that I copied.

It happened few times in the beginnig when i just joined mylot. I thought it would get back to the message that i wrote. But i was wrong, all the messages were gone!! I was mad too and did not have motivation to write any more. I think this is the thing mylot should improve. The message should be saved and allow us to correct the mistake. Now, normally i will copy my message first before i post in case same thing will happen again. Try to back up your things next time. Have a nice day and happy mylotting!

I had that happen to me once where I went to submit a post and they said that I had words and phrases were inappropriate and to change them. I read it all, and I never ever saw any words that I had that were bad. It was very strange, so I redid, and it went through the 2nd time. I wish I had known what words andprharses weren't acceptable, but I had to figure it out muself, but since I didn't see anything, I just retyped a new one and then it was okay. It was all so strange, but it has never happened since that time. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.
