Pur water filter flavor cartridges expiration date?

Do the little Pur water filter (flavor options line) fruit flavor cartridges really expire? They have an expiration date on them. I would like to know if the flavor actually goes bad. I'd like to purchase these on ebay, but some people are selling expired ones there. Are they the same? Thanks in advance, guys!
