My 40th is this weekend. I have not attended since my five year reunion because of many factors.....first my best frien in high school and my boyfriend of four years suddenly became involved at the end of my junior year......it made for a very uncomfortable senior year.....I went to the five year because I was married to a classmate and he wanted to go. We had a good time but the boyfriend that took off with my best friend....sat next to me with his hand on my knee under the table cloth at the dinner. I figured by now he's pretty much over it...so I decided to go just to connect with a few people....I don't even know if my two best friends from high school will be there but both my sister's classes are included in the reunion....so do you or have you went to your class reunions? One of my best friends went to the 20th and she said there wasn't one person there she wanted to hang out with! LOL...maybe things have changed!

I have never been to one of my reunions. I just don't care anything about going. I know alot of people go & have a good time & i might myself but have never carried enough about seeing if i do. Don't guess i am very social.

I have attended every reunion since we graduated. Our 45th is in October of this year. Not sure we are going. If we decide not to go, it will be the first one I've missed. All were fun but don't have much interest this year. We had a huge graduating class. Was somewhere around 900 or more. My husband graduated the year after so he also knows many of the people from my class. It's expensive, right around $200 for both of us to attend the reunion and the Sunday brunch. My best friend from high school went in the convent right after graduation and I lost track of her. My husband was my high school sweetheart. We both played all kinds of sports so we have classmates we can chat with about softball, baseball and other sports. Past reunions, I was also on the planning committee but this time just didn't have the interest. We can decide in the next couple of weeks if we are going. If you decide to go to your reunion, have a blast.

It sounds like you had a rollicking time! I guess this year would be my ten year class reunion, only I graduated when I was sixteen, two years ahead of my class. So I don't know if they would include me in the reunion invites. But since my school was so small, I doubt we will ever have any reunions.
My mom never went to her reunions, but she graduated at the age of 16 also. Now my dad has gone to all of his reunions. He is still in contact with some of his former classmates, and of course he has fun wherever he goes. So they always go, even if my poor mom would rather not.

No never. it will be 25 years next year and I have no intention to go. It was hard for me to fit in. My best year was my junior year and I knew it could never be the same.I didn't go to graduation.Instead I went on a trip with my mom.I am not curious about the old gang. i would feel out of place. I assume most are married with children. I never wanted either. All the things we had in common are all gone.It would be a waste of time.

I would never go. I was only at the school for only two years and didn't have any memorable relationships there. Well, maybe a few bullies ...
My mother married an army sergeant when I was nine, so after the second grade we went to different schools after two years (maximum) or so.
My sister was far more outgoing than me, and kept up relationships. She said her class who graduated in Germany (we're US citizens) had their 20th graduation anniversary in Germany, and had a blast. But she wasn't as anti-social as I was during that time.
No, I have nothing to give to the past. I go forward and leave it all behind.

I haven't attended my class reunion yet because mine is next year. It's hard to believe I graduated in 2005 and it's been 5 years next year. I'm not sure how I'll feel about going because there was so many problems the last year of my school. I'm not even sure if I'll really go.

I have been graduated from high school 20 yrs this summer... and just last week I received the information in the mail for our reunion.... funny thing...I have not opened the envelope yet!!
ok, first --in response to your reunion/high school experience...OH MY GOD!!! I dont understand when friends/boyfriends can do that and stab someone in the back...but I think in the long run you are better off without people like that in your life and I hope that things worked out so much better for you in life and that there lives were totally miserable!!!!!
second, regarding my reunion....they did have a 5 yr reunion, only I thought it was too soon to see some of those people so I didnt go and thought maybe I will go to the 10th... but that came and went and I never even cared to look it up or find out about it... now I have been contacted about the 20th (like I need to be reminded I am 20 yrs older LOL).... hubby asked what I plan to do about it... I opened a facebook acct to contact an old work friend and never closed out the account and people from my high school have been contacting me --but of course I never go to facebook --I am more of a mylot person!! I dont want to go, but I am not sure if I will... I have no interest to see what others have done --not that I was anti social in school --I had tons of friends and never dated anyone from my school so there is no bad feelings.. just I really dont have an interest --but we will see what happens when the time comes!! LOL

I never attend class re-unions cos I was never invited!. Not sure there is any thats being organised either. After finishing school, most of us went overseas for studies. As for me, I left for England to study Engineering.

I haven't attended my class reunions last October.

Primary school's, junior middle school's and senior middle school's class reunions have I all attended. But I may never attend them again ~
My classmates have all changed so much and be very curious to know what is happening to each other. However, after the dashing time, there is always a dull atmosphere. It is dull to talk about work with those having a same profession, it is also dull to explain your life to those having a different job.
Some young men and women may expect to find ideal marriage in this situation. But as far as I know, few succeeded. Even if they could, they may involve similar dilemma like you. Boyfriend or girlfriend could be the most familiar stranger and the strong feeling could hurt your daily life. sigh... So jillhill, I think you'd better not go to the reunion. Best wishes!

I attended my 35th reunion 4 years ago, out of 109 people a grand total of 9 showed up. The whole weekend consisted of going to a football game on Friday night, and a dinner on Saturaday night. I think maybe a dozen classmates showed up for this. My 40th is coming up in about six months and if they do not have a better plan for the activities I will skip it.

I have not been to any reunions...yet. A 30th is being planned for this fall and I hope to be able to attend. I've just recently connected with some high school friends on facebook and I think it would be nice to see them again. Hope you have an enjoyable time!

Our 10 year reunion was just last fall I think. I didn't attend. I don't feel like I can. I switched schools just before 11th grade, but I don't consider my 2nd school as my alma mater. I hated the 2nd school, and ended up dropping out. If I were to go to a reunion it would be the school I went to for 9th and 10th grade, but since I didn't graduate from that school I'm not sure if I belong at the reunion. Oh well, anyone I want to connect with is on Facebook.

Here in the UK, or at least with the schools I attended, the reunion thing isn't really done or if it is it is quite low profile. You never get invitations to reunions rather than it being spread by word of mouth that someone is having an informal get together rather than a proper organized event.
Personaly I've never bothered to attend any of these gatherings as I don't have that many fond memories of my time at school. Plus the few old friends who I would like to see again and catch up with have moved far a field so it is highly unlikely that any of them return for just an informal social.

wow! I have never been to any reunions at all as it wasn't happening then in the U.K. But it may be different now. what a mix up for the fifth reunion though. It has made me giggle. People do change and not just physically as life has dealt with them in may ways and some have become embittered etc. some people also have grown in a different way so I can understand what your friend said about not wanting to hang out with any of the people there. I mean - what do you all have in common? Just a few years at school together.
I think though, if I had an invitation then I would be tempted to go - just out of curiosity. And the former boyfriend that groped you? He is probably in a wheel chair, wearing a deaf aid and has to take Viagra. (Just on Saturday nights!)
I owuld love you tpo go so that I can hear about it all.

My ten year class reunion was last year, and, no, I didn't go. It was too expensive and most of the people that I am still friends with didn't go, so it really wasn't worth it to me. The next time that a class reunion rolls around, I hope that our officers who planned the prior reunion will have grown up some and then I will be willing to go.
From what I understand, the reunion last year was all about partying, getting drunk and being wild. I haven't been in that stage of my life for many years and in certain ways I am sad that many of my old classmates haven't grown up yet.
