How much is too much with critters?

Personally, I'm into animal rights but just wonder at what point animal doting becomes too much.
For instance, we have always had our favorite pets cremated when they went on and everytime we move we have one box in which they all come with us. We,of course, find nothing wrong with this. My mom thought it was the dumbest thing she'd ever heard.
And do you remember the snail darter?
So there it is..Do you dote on critters personally and/or with rights issues? How?
And when does it get ridiculous?
ENJOY!

I love my cats, I can't see just putting them in the ground and forgetting about them. I would want to have my cats cremated when they pass on, I don't see what that's silly or wrong. What if you bury them and then move? Will someone dig them up and disturb them, you can't go back and visit their grave, like you can with a persons. Everyone is different though and I don't know what doting means? Personally I just can't see sticking them in the ground.

What I meant by doting was the silly costumes and accessories folks get for their critters..I agree with having them with us, as attested by the urns about the house..thanx..ENJOY!

Oh I understand now, I'm sorry about that. I don't dress my pets up or anything, I think that's going a little over board and is silly. Plus I don't think the animal likes it, some will put up with it better then others, but I think it is uncomfortable for them. I don't agree in making your pet feel uncomfortable just because it pleases us. My aunt puts a sweater on her small dog, but only during the winter when she takes him out in the cold. She does it to keep him warm, not to dress him up and make him look cute.

I personally dont see anything wrong with cremating your pet
they are members of the family and you dont just throw them out and get over it
you want to hold on to what you had just like you do when a human family member passes away
what i find to be too much is when people dress their pets up in clothes
its degrading to the animal and just silly

Hey!
I agree with the clothes. I suppose some folks just never outgrow their Barbie and Ken doll days.
Thanx...ENJOY!
