Does anyone believe Africa can become wealthy

I had a long thought on this subject to end up without any evident conclusiion to the matter. It started with if Africa has being cheated by so called richer nations and as such can never move out of it poverty or that the leaders of African countries are so corrupt and love power to the extent that they will do everything including destroying their own people. However it is worth stating that a few countries there have started showing so many good signs not forgetting recent President Obama in Ghana and the fact that the world cup 2010 is currently coming to SouthAfrica. With this recent events i still believe that Africa might one day stand up to other nations to push poverty out of the world. So what is your personal opinion.
