Its my big day today and i was not really planning to celebrate it as it will only reminds me that i am already 30. Well don't get me wrong i am very much thankful that i reached this age alive and kicking. I am very much thankful to the God Almighty and i am praying that He will still give me long life. Now getting back to what had happen is that it turns that i've prepared a big meal not because i plan to but family and friends get used to it and because they remember my big day. I appreciate it very much. I did all the cooking and it was really tiring at the end after all the reunion, sort of and dinner. I think that's how its used to be whenever we celebrate party or dinner at home. It exhausting but happy. I am tired but can't seem to sleep. Anyway after this i will be going to bed. How about you, do you cater your own food for birthday or party? or you will hire a caterer so you won't be tired and exhausted at the end of the day?

Happy Birthday to you. 30 today so welcome to your thirties. It is lovely that you are so thankful for your life and happy about the future. I don't tend to make a big deal about my birthday but I used to do my own catering when I had a celebration with friends.

Oh wow, Happy Birthday!^_^ Last time I remember was that discussion of yours moving out and finding your own place or something to that effect. Oh, and something about the boss too...? Or am I mixing them up with someone else? I just remember that you said you were near getting thirty and have to make a decision(the specifics of the decision escapes me right now.) and I said that you still have time, during that time. Well, whatever it was I sure hope you made the decision that will work for you. Anyway, as for birthdays, we really dont celebrate it that much. I used to hold birthday parties when I was still a kid but when I told my Mom that we dont have to have a party on my birthday that was just it for that day. We don make a big fuss out of it, but I do request the food that Im craving for at that time to be our dinner meal and since its my birthday, my request would be usually granted.^_^ As for those childhood birthday parties, I remember that my Mom with some helpers cook most of the foods to be served. I remember that she once cooked a large potful of spaghetti and in my young mind, I thought that that was the biggest pot of spaghetti I have ever seen.

I don't usually celebrate at all but this year I was spoiled. My best friend spent over $300 on jewelry for me (which I didn't like that she spent that much!) and my man took me out to dinner and babied me. The kids got me a beautiful necklace. It was very nice. If I would of had to cook, that would of been fine too. I would not hire a caterer. I would of had a BBQ or tried to something a little easier. But I'm glad you had a great time. And I'm glad you got to spend it with loved ones! ~Happy Birthday~

I have never had a birthday party like that after growing older. I think I would have my husband cook it or I would do it myself though if I ever did have one. I may order take out also if someone would travel 50 miles to pick it up.

Well usually I do all the cooking. Sometimes hubby and kids do it. Sometimes we all do LOL We all enjoy cooking and making things look nice, so we do prefer that to hire a caterer. We might get someone to clean up the next day if it's a lot, but that is only on very special occasions :) Happy Birthday - belated, but it's the thought that counts :):):)

firstly - "HAPPY 30TH. BIRTHDAY"... that's nice that you have a nice 'gathering' with family and friends to celebrate. we normally celebrate our birthdays just between our small family, and usually we would let the 'guest of honor' to choose what and where they wish to dine.. i almost never have to cook

My birthday is on the 15th of this month. I don't really have anything planned this year. Maybe a birthday cake but I'm not really worried about my birthday I am just happy and thank God that I have made it another year in my life.

Hi cheenlly, at my age, 68, birthdays are quiet affairs. My wife does any cooking, and a few wriends join in a small celebration. My family is spread far and wide, so I haven't had any family members at a birthday celebration for many years.
