A Better Me What about You?

So once again im getting ready to change my lifestyle. Its sad because I have dieted so many times. As a previous health and fitness major and an "uncertified" personal trainer, and as someone who worked in a gym for 3 years, I would call myself fat. Now others may not even dare call me fat but medically speaking I am overweight. I am 5'4" and I weigh about 151 pounds. Now granted I have 2 children one who is just 7 months old and the stress in my life at one point was very high which I strongly feel was a contributing factor BUT needless to say I am overweight and it is taking a toll on my body. I am a dancer ballet and lyrical and all the extra weight does not help me out in any way.
My best friend and I have decided to eat healthy and work out, but not diet. I want to be able to have that cookie or that pasta when I want to but in moderation. Since each trainer and fitness professional has their own methods to loosing weight, I dont want to follow just one. The sure fact is calories in vs. calories out equals weight loss. So if I am striving for healthy eathing and take in a cookie every so often but im working out I should still lose the weight and get healthier at the same time.
What was the last diet you did? did it work? Please share your weight loss stories!

i need to lose 13 lbs.
i'm not sure why I lose weight then gain it back, but it has been happening for the past 3 years
i used to eat when bored (i went from a size 2 to 12 quick) but i stopped and i'm healthier now but i still have a bit to lose
