Since my childhood I was always thinking that, why India is not having No. 1 rank in ODI? India have the population of more than 1 Billion now...Austrolia have only about 0.5 million...still they manage to keep their ranking number 1 for more than a decade...even South Afrika..with size of about our state Panjab and with a population of less than a 1 million they have preity good image in Cricket than India.. Recently in Dhoni's captancy..India have managed to come to number 2 in ODI..but will India come to number 1? and if yes...will India able to keep his number 1 spot for long time..? Please reply with your responses...what might be the reasons for India to took so long for coming to this position and how long will it take to come to number 1 position in ODI?

India is playing really well in one day internationals and they can climb up to be rank no.1 if they work hard more.

No question about that India will one day rank first in ODI but she is still warming up to be a potential team in the cricket frontier.

India has the potential to be the No.1.Population doesn't matter much,All that matters is the training and efforts of the players.Indian players have managed to get to No.2 position now.In these days there are playing great but beating SA is not an easy task.Hoping that India gets to the NO.1 position as quickly as possible. Nice discussion and Have a nice day!

The rank is not depended on the populerity of that contry.it is depended on the performence of that team....and Australia can do keeping the good performance more than a decade..thatswhy Australia manege to keep their ranking no.1 more than a deacade..but nowly India's form make the Indians to hope getting no.1
