We all know airplane long flights can cause huge amounts of boredom. Sitting in a chair for eight or more hours drives me nuts. What are some things you do on long airplane flights to pass the time?

sleep. that is the best way to kill time on a long airplane fight/train journey. but usually delicious food will be provided so i am also willing to take a taste to pass time. but you can never expect the video shown on the airplain to be funny. Abrat.

I usually bring lots of books and magazines. I like to read more than one book at a time. When I get tired of one book, I just read another one for a while. I also like to read magazines, especially magazines full of (supposedly) true stories or magazines about psychology or travelling. Another thing that I always bring is my notebook and my pens. In the notebook I like to write about my thoughts, feelings or esperiences. I also like to write poems or letters to my friends.

I usually try to travel in a aircraft which has its own individual TV screens and in house entertainment. Locally I travel by Kingfisher air, who not only has this facilities, but they also serve some good food and drinks. If I am not able to travel in style and travel budget, I always try to read the in house publication of the airlines or some newspaper or books. Finally if nothing works, I try to sleep..

I rather enjoy a plane flight. I like the idea of being in the sky. It does get boring when it is long. What I usually do is just watch the movies. Their are a lot of new releases that could be watched on the airplane and if I found a movie I like, I can just watch it again. Being on a plane, time passes very quickly for me.

Dear madb0mber77, I have fly MAS (Malaysian Airline System) to New York. IT is approximately 20 hours with transit at Stockholm (1 hour). Thank God, this long hauled flight is equipped with individual tv screen with in-house entertainment. They screen many current Blockbuster and animation...you can choose the channels you want! So, I am glad that I managed to catch-up with so many blockbusters that I missed like Die Hard 4, Kungfu Panda etc. The have computer games too. For children they have this animation screenings, games, child activity pack & toys. In between you may order drinks & titbits and play the pokers cards with friends.. But my recent flight via Gulf Air to Bahrain / Egypt do not have this facilities..they only have a few bigger screen in the plane, so I cannot really foucs on the shows...what I did was :- 1) play some games with my son : just need papers & pen - master mind, tic-tac-toe, names' list games, etc. Gulf Air also provide children activities pack with a great book 'Alexander the Great', I myself enjoyed reading it :). 2) my husband will read newspaper, do 'sudoku' -puzzle, me too..lol I brought along with me some jokes book to read. 3) make new friends who also bored..and we end up as friends till today. Great isn't it?? 4) Check our camera and delete whichever photograph that needed to delete so got more space for new destinations. If it is on the way back, we will go through and enjoyed all the photos that had just taken. 5) Rest and sleep...actually a nap! The best airlines so far I think was Cathay Pacific (Hong Kong airlines) Full of new amenities, facilities and make the flights enjoyable We are never bored, coz they have lots of new movies, comfortable seat & wonderful meals :) Tks and hope to hear your views on my topics too
