I just read an article in pinoymoneytalk that our very own
Manny Pacquiao is the 2009 world's top 6 richest and highest-paid athelete with 40M DOLLARS total net worth. The article also says that he's one of the Time Magazine's
100 most influential people. Whew!
Are you proud of this?
What are your views?
I am proud knowing this of course because it's not that everyday a Filipino is recognized as this and that internationally. I just hope that his being one of the
most influential icons would not make him a political figure in the years to come. Just my own hopes. d;)

HI jazzbabe!
I believe Manny deserved this, he have worked hard literally to become the most popular and influential boxer in the world. It's like a fairytale story where a poor boy became popular and rich. He have also became one of the international endorser of the athletic outfit company, Nike.
Almost every known boxer want to fight him because they know that this will give them exposure, beside from the high payment they will earn.
Have a nice day!

Yes that's very much correct!
Besides, his was a sport that's very health-risky and it does
feel good knowing that another Filipino has made it to the pedestal
to be recognized and awarded. It does make wonder for us whenever he has
a fight and all Filipinos are at peace and one in cheering for the same person.
You have a nice day as well!

I thought he is number 1. Considering the hard work and discipline he employs every time he has a fight, and his good handling of his money, it's not really a surprise to see Manny Pacquiao in the list. And that's a very transparent income. He gained through hard work, luck and good management. One more good thing about Manny is he tries to do something to others. He not only give dole outs from time to time but he is creating business for others as well (e.g. the export processing zone in Saranggani).

Well after being punch here and there I guess he deserves to get that money. I think his career is not an easy career to thread. There is always the risk of getting damage every time he goes inside the ring and his life is always at stake since there is always the danger of getting heavy damage if you're not that prepared.

Who wouldn't be proud of this... Manny Pacquiao is proud of being a Filipino... he has made that clear in all his local and international interviews... and not only is he rich and talented... he makes time to help the less fortunate... and he does it even without publicity...
I hope he will never change... and that more success will come to him... since his success is also the the success of every Filipino in the world...

there's no doubt about this bit of news, given that he's won several boxing titles and has become increasingly popular in the last few years. It makes me proud as a Filipino knowing that he's been able to show inspiration for the rest of our countrymen and that he is a living proof that despite your humble beginnings, you can still reach your dreams and achieve something great!
