to read is to achieve a milestone, a great one.who was w/ you then during those days ? did you have an enjoyable time ? were you looking forward to future sessions, a time to learn more and achieve? were there praises of encouragement/ or it was a difficult time? hope you still remember! my first teacher was my mother . before going to school i can already read two- three letter words.i can also write my name nicely . when i attended regular school ,all the more that i learned a lot. my mother was n't really a patience lady, it's just that i learn easily.i enjoyed it because i learn new words everyday, it encourages me and i look forward to her calling me from play to start and read another book or learn her new set of words.it was fun and rewarding!

i can remember my mom teaching me when i was only 2. they say i was able to read when i was 2 years 8 months old. in fact, i could distinctly remember the day that they forced me to read a newspaper! i pronounced a lot of words wrongly! and i remember i didn't like the feeling of being criticized. i think i was only five then.

My brother who was three years older than me taught me to read before i started school. I already had a head starts so reading was a breeze for me. I was in the top percent of my class and it really helped me excel. My mother always encouraged me.

I really don't remember anymore but seeing that it was my mom who was always with us during homework times, I guess it was she who taught me first how to read. Both I and my brother learned how to read fast because she was a bit strict when it comes to studying. But I was always the wayward grass and always managed to slip! hahaha

Both of my parents are the ones who taught me how to read and to enjoy it. During the weekend, or when they had extra time, they were very patient and tried their hardest to get me how to learn. Before attending school, I had a very large and extensive vocabulary of words.

My Mother was a stay at home mom and had a lot of extra time on her hands so she took that extra time to teach me how to read and I thank her greatly for it :) She read to me before I could even remember. I wouldn't be surprised if she read to me while I was still an infant LOL! But I remember she read to me whenever she had the time, read me bed time stories, would take me to the library (I remember I would kill her library card by hiding the books since I loved them so much hahaha) eventually I would just start picking out the books I like in the library at age 5 and have her read it to me until I started reading on my own. After that i'd go to book stores and buy books also would write short little stories. I think it's really important to learn to read while very young, it helps out a lot! I was never behind in my English class and was actually always getting straight A's! :D

My father read stories aloud to me when I was a child. He is very good at reading and he always made the stories very entertaining by changing his voice etc. He didn't teach me to read, I don't really think that he was patient enough to do that, but I think that he is one of the reasons why I developped a passion for stories and reading. Today I am an adult and I read a lot, I have read many, many books in my life. My grandmother also read aloud to me, she didn't teach me to read either, but I will never forget the time we spent together. I learned to read when I started school, and I still remember the day when I suddenly discovered that I was able to read my books on my own. It was a fantastic feeling.

The first to teach me how to read was my father. He is an avid reader himself so he made sure that I can read even before I started schooling. As far as I can remember I started reading books when I was like three years old. I grew up in family where everybody loved reading, so every time I saw them holding books, me to will grab a book or magazine and read.

I learnt to read when I was very little. My grandmother taught me. I remember I generally liked the reading sessions except at the very last. There was this huge story at the end of the book. It was a whole page full of words. It took me a time to take the sheep safely home away from the wolf. But after that, reading became my first interest until now.

My parents never read to us when we were a kid, so they are not the one who taught me to read. It is my kindergarten teacher who did the job. All I did up to 5 years old is play with my older sister. I always looked when she was studying her books, sometimes I draw in her exercise books or tore them and got spanked for that.

I don't remember really who first taught me how to read. That is funny right? Well, its because I have many sisters who volunteered to do it. Being the youngest of seven siblings I had the privilege of having many teachers. Its kind of cool I think because I learned fast enough. Looking at the young readers these days, I don't remember learning to read that way either. I guess I just read words by memory but not by the new way of syllabication like they use now. Its great to have sisters who love reading too! Because I tend to copy them and I enjoyed reading since then.

It was both my parents who taught me to read and write first. We do it on a auspicious day before the child is sent to school. Later we are made to learn and write everyday to get ready for school. It was both my mom and dad who taught me to do this first.
