I have a cellular phone with a contract service agreement. I also have a laptop computer with wireless internet capabilities. The problem is you never know what people or things you are attached to until you are forced to do without them or have made the decision to do without those things or people for just a little while. Letting go of some things or some people in my life for only a little while hurts me on the inside because i don't have much to hold on to. That which I do have, I am very careful with, like my phone and my computer. I put a lot into those kinds of things. It may be the main reason why I have such a hard time asking for help from certain people. It may be the problem why I am having problems in other areas in my life. I can't seem to trust anyone with anything I have without supervising them. As a Christian, that does not look good on my personal record. I wish I wasn't so selfish. Have you ever heard the saying, "Anything or anyone you cannot let go has a hold you"? Well, I just found out my computer and my cellular phone are two things I I feel like I cannot do without. Has this ever happened to you?

I really feel as if I can't live without these things either. I live in a very rural area and it's actually cheaper for me to have a cellular phone than it is for me to have a landline phone. I use both my phone and internet connections for communicating with my family, arranging transportation (I can't walk long distances unassisted and have no car), and for earning extra spending money. If you're spending alot of money on such things, is it necessary to purchase an expensive model or a brand new on. Being a Christian has nothing to do with protecting your fiancial and material property. Not loaning/sharing isn't necessarily self either, as some people DO take advantage of those who would be nice enough to share. There is a difference between practicality, bare necessity, necessities that aren't 100% needed (I cant find a better way to word that sorry.. I mean such as a television OR a radio, a phone that has service to at least dial 9-1-1. Where I live, that last bit is important because there are NO payphones in the town and most neighbors won't allow you to borrow or give a ride to the hospital or police station without making you pay them.
There's also a HUGE difference between working for years and buying nice things for yourself, and later coming down on your luck and asking for help, compared to being someone who always begs for things from others, that never keeps a job when they do get one, and rarely looks for one when they don't have one. Are you perhaps just being hard on yourself?

At first, I really don't understand your message, I was a little confused. Later, you actually talking about you couldn't let go of your computer and cell phone, because you can't do without them in your daily life. Well, it is part of choice. Personal preference. People prefer to attach to computer and cell phone everyday. For me, I would say the same thing. They are absolutely really important to me too.
