I just saw a great analogy on Dave Ramsey's Town Hall for Hope. It was held in May, I was watching a rerun on Hulu.com. Dave Ramsey said something that everyone should hear. He said that in the book Thou Shalt Prosper the author states, "The economy is not a cake. If I get a bigger piece that does not mean that you get a smaller piece by default".
Dave Ramsey went on to say that the economy is more like a candle. He stated, "If I light your candle than my candle is not diminished at all and you have light". He used an example of him paying a plumber to fix his hot water heater. He pays the plumber who in turn buys lunch at a local restaurant. The plumber pays the restaurant who it turn pays their employess, and so on.
So which do you believe the economy is a cake or a candle?

Hi Bziebarth, Its a nice intelligent question. Its hard to answer with a very limited knowledge in this subject.... As far as I think, this economy is much like a candle and not a cake. Over here, you pay for others. There are many who serve you and against it they get payments from you,and hence by this they get benefited,as they cay pay their own debts from this payments. I think, even if our Government pay all its debts from the taxes that we pay.

I have to agree with Mr. Ramsey that our economy is a candle, however, there are way too many people who choose to hoard their money in such a way that it doesn't benefit anyone. Investing your money in the proper way helps other people, giving money helps other people, hoarding it helps no one.
