What kind of driver are you when you hit someone?

My sister got an accident last night. She was riding a motorcycle and all of sudden there was a fast car hit her. Unfortunately, the driver ran away. My sister now is in the hospital, she got bruises and her head needs some treatment. I wonder what kind of driver is he? Leaving the injured one on the street, as if there is nothing happens. I feel so sorry for my sister and I also feel angry with the driver. The worst thing is at that time was dark, so my sister could not identify the number of the car and no one was there. When you have hit someone at night what would you do?

I'm sorry about your sister. I've been in a hit and run before. It was pretty late at night, and I guess a drunk truck driver came in at ilke 50 mph and crashed the behind of my car. I called 911 right away but then he somehow got out of the clutches of the police. I spent over a thousand dollars just to get it 75% fixed. It really annoyed me. Good thing I wasn't injuried. It was the first time the air bag flew at me when I was driving. One of the scariest moments of my life. My parents got pretty P.O.ed too.

First let me say I am very sorry that this happend to your sister. My prayers will be with her. Now as for what kind of driver, I would have to say that person was a careless driver. That person probably drove off not because they didn't care, but because they were scared to face the reality of what had just happend at that very moment. It's sad, some people run away from their problems. That driver seems to have done just that, ran away from the situation that he/she caused.

thanks for your comments. Yes, he is a careless driver. For now, my sister is fine but she is afraid to ride a motorcycle at night.

That's awful. I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I'm glad she is ok it could have been a lot worse. I can sort of understand why a person might hit and run. I can imagine they are probably really scared. Maybe they thought they killed someone but that shouldn't be any excuse for leaving someone after they hit them. I hate that people refuse to take responsibility for their actions. I hope they catch the person that did it.

I agree with you that a man with a dignity is a man who takes responsibility for everything he has done. I hope he will be caught by the police.

Oh my I'm sorry about your sister. That driver should be caught but too bad there was no witness. If I know I hit on something I will be very concerned on what I had hit on. Especially if its a human being. I will get off my car and help the person to a hospital. I may have to report it to the police if needed. I will also contact the person's family of the incident. I will be very responsible of my actions. I know I can't live happily with a guilty feeling inside knowing I did something wrong to another human being. It's sad that there are some people who have escaped, hit and run on someone. I have seen some accidents happening in the streets but these is reality. I hope your sister gets well soon. Ciao!

Hmmm, I am so sorry to hear that. But, don't worry time will heal your trauma. I hope someday you won't be nervous again to drive a car.

If I hit someone, I would be responsible and get up and help the person. If they were really badly hurt, I would take them to a hospital right away. I do not get why people hit someone and just run away.

Iam sorry for what has happened to your sister. Hope she recovers fully soon. It must have been very bad alnoe on the streets. Unfortunately there are such drivers who just dont care, some are drunk and some are too scared. If I hit someone I would stop for sure, well thats at least while the incident never happens, Cant say what my instinct will be if I hit someone.

If i'm not drunk (LOL) i would stop my vehicle and see if the person i hit is severely injured or if s/he can manage and then apologize with a "sorry". If it is severe i'm sure i'll get them to the nearest clinic/hospital and then leave. I'm really sorry for your sister. But did you report the about the incident to some official?
