Astrology - Boon or Bane?

predicting predictions - astrological signs that are used to predict one's future. An astrologer who is good in reading these signs helps people decode the signs and tells them what the future holds for them!

Once upon a time I used to believe in astrology and was amazed at how rightly it predicts our future. Later with a series of incidents i stopped believing in it - i wonder if it actually lays the plan inside our minds and then we simply attract the same things that was predicted because we are knowingly or unknowingly believing in it. One of my friend is an astrology freak and loves to check his horoscope every month. He predicted that his first marriage may wreck and he simply believed in it. The point is he and his wife do not stay together and their married life is wrecked If it were me in this place, i think i would have told my better half about the bad time and would have (mutually, with my "better" half) saved the marriage, fighting the odds, instead of simply believing and following a paper prediction. The story stated here may make you feel that astrology is bane. On the contrary i think it is a boon to have somethign predict your future. When i know the road i may take in the future, i would be prepared to face the challenge and probably prepare myself mentally and physically to cross the difficult path. What do you say?

In my opinion astrology is a perfect science that has been neglected for many centuries. The ancient Indian sages like Agathiya, Varahamihira, Aryabhatta were truly masters of astrology and astronomy. Unfortunately now there is no such perfect astrologers. My conclusion is, astrology never fails, but the astrologers do.

Hi, I like your conclusion, it reflects today's world of astrology. T The ancient Chinese Four Pillars of Destiny is not fortune-telling. We have to be very honest with our clients when they come for their readings because if the chart tells us that, for example, they have wealth luck, we cannot affirm nor guarantee that they'll be a millionaire within such and such a time. We all know that besides striking lottery, it's hard work that can make us rich. That being said, if they have wealth luck potential, we can offer them guidelines of how to go about and reap profits in their investments, or business ventures. The ancient people believes that there are three kinds of luck: Heaven luck is what we're born with which we cannot change. Earth luck points to our environment, especially the kind of energies we are exposed to, we can improve by using cures and remedies. Lastly, Man luck is our own free will, what we do to ourselves. This can be easily illustrated: take the example above of a man with potential wealth luck, if he chose not to do anything and sat there to wait for the windfall, do you think he would become rich? Besides, we are convinced that the yearly, monthly or even daily elements can significantly influence our destiny. I hope this shed some light on the Four Pillars of Destiny :)

I studied Bazi, which is the Chinese art of Astrology, it literally means eight characters. It is also known as The Four Pillars of Destiny. The chart is calculated using your time and place of birth, and gender. It's like a road map, we use it to trace our life path, identifying your favorable and unfavorable 10-year cycle and elements, so you understand what life is in store for you. If you want to know more, you can check out my blog at this link: http://www.fengshuiheritage.com/blog/page/6/ I will leave you to decide if it's boon or bane :-)

Sorry, I forgot to mention that you have to scroll down... it's under "Introduction to Chinese Astrology - Bazi". I hope this is not against myLot rules. Please let me know so I will not repeat it.

Astrology is not about following it. Astrology acts as a method of understanding or foreseeing dangers and trouble and taking necessary precautions. Astrology helps in making our life better. Its silly that your friend blindly followed astrology and did not make any attempt to rescue his marriage. For some people marriage is like a business deal. When you don't like it anymore you break it and look for something else.

A long time ago, when I was a vulnerable one. I sought the answer of life by asking many fortune tellers and astrology. Unfortunatelly, I found myself in a confusing circle of life. The more I asked, the more unconfident myself facing the future. I felt like that I was being played by the fate which I didn't know how to have a grip of my life. So, one day I made a big resolution of my life that I would not want to trust the frotune tellers and astrology. I believe that only God that can give me my destiny and I should to manage my life by doing the best what I can do. Now, I read astrology only for fun. I smile for the good thing that it says but I don't believe bad things that they say...so, bye..bye.. astrology.

According to me I feel there is something beyond Astrology and that is what is called FATE. As you had a belief in Astrology you must be having some faith in Fate too. Astrology is predicted, which may or may not happen, but if you are fated to undergo a particular phase you just cannot avoid it. Well this is my version, I do not have great belief in astrology neither am I against it. I just keep accepting things that keep happening in my life, so it is neither a boon nor a bane for me.

Astrologers use such language that anything that happens seems like a prediction. :-) I dont think most of the astrologers that we come across truly know the science, if it does exist. They are just there to make money on the other person's gullibility. After all who is going to waste time suing them for the pittance that they charge, if their forecast does not come true. :-) And any such action will not be tenable, as it is not recognized science. However, there is another aspect of astrology which is positive, it is called soothsaying. The object is to let the person hang on for a while till the bad phase gets over. In ancient days, there were no psychiatrists, and others to whom we could run to with our problems. I believe this is how this profession came into being and flourished. In modern times it doesnt really make sense, though I have known some who have accurately predicted some things. I believe these instances are just coincidences.

I used to believe in Astrology, because it seemed like it was actually predicting things for me.If we can find a good astrologer,he can predict our future with some accuracy up to some extend. But,now it very difficult to find a good astrologer. Some people with out knowing astrology cheat people and destroying the reputation of good astrologer also. Most educated people dismiss astrology as rubbish, but there is something in it. I still believe that more research is needed in this area. There is some mysterious force controlling all our day to day activities.with out seeing God,we all believe in God.

I am not supposed to believe in astrology according to the rules of my religion. So, I don't believe in that. But, I go for palm reading or parrot astrology once in a while for fun even though I don't believe it. Sometimes I read horoscope columns in local magazines. It will be happy if I the horoscope says something good will happen to me even though I don't worry about the result of it.
