I think that slumdog millionaire was considered for the prestigious Oscar because it was directed by a hollywood director.Earlier in the past many Indian directors had made so many appealing films but they were not even nominated for oscars and are now the part of history....Thus it seems that racial discrimination still dominates the oscar distribution..
