Hi myLotters? So what do you think is the best thing in your culture? For me, the best thing in our culture is our positive and happy attitude. No matter how many hardships come our way, we always find a way to smile and laugh. In fact, other countries are amazed at how happy we seem to be. I once saw a report about the damages caused by a storm here in my country, and the people who were victims of the storm, instead of being gloomy, were smiling at the reporter's camera. Don't get these people wrong, they do care about their lives, but they just like to keep a positive attitude. By the way, I'm from the Philippines, and according to studies, Filipinos are one of the happiest people in the world.

hello angelajoy... i also like that attitude of us Filipino...we are happy people and still able to smile despite of all the bad things that are happening to us... we also have strong faith and we are really hospitable...something that other nations admire... another thing that i am proud of is the respect that we have for our elders and our strong family bonds... and the spirit of 'bayanihan' is also great...

Yes, I agree. Those are good qualities that Filipinos have. But it's too bad that there are no mylotters from other nations who shared their own good qualities. I started this discussion because I really wanted to know what other nations pride themselves with in terms of culture.

oh i see, maybe you can start another discussion about it, but don't make it the same, i mean change the title & the content but the theme will be the same...and hope that it will catch other culture's eyes...

I like the manners of the Philippine people of being hospitable like4 their neighboring countries Vietnam and Thailand. Do "Mano" take the hand of the older people and touch to their forehead as a sign of respecting older fellas. Saying, "Po" and "Opo" are the great polite words using by Filipinos as "Aseo" of Koerans. Great! Polite People!!! Long time ago Philippine also take a bow to the elders and superior like teachers similar to Koreans and Japanese. Have a nice day.

Hello Bradpete! Today we still practice those. We are as hospitable as ever and we still do those signs of respect for the elder. I didn't know that Koreans also have a word equivalent to our "po" and "opo." So that's one thing we have in common.
