When talking to him, one of the things he told me when we set up the appointment is it's very informal, wear a Detroit Tigers t-shirt and shorts, Don't wear sweats...
So here's my question. I always go to interviews with a nice button down shirt and nice pants. So if I go in there dressed up, will it seem like I didn't believe him or trust him or was not listening? Or should I show up with a nice t-shirt and nice jeans?

Buy a new T and tuck it into nice pants. You want to show that you listen but that you also dress for the ocasion.
I always wear a nice blouse and slaks to interviews because I do not wear dresses or skirts at all. I love my jeans but would never wear them to an interview no matter what they told me because it is just to important to make a good impression.
