does anyone wonder why no one could unseat GMA from the presidency? not even cory's magic could topple her over. erap has millions of followers among the masses who could become unruly at times and bring chaos to the land. but no one could bring GMA down. all impeachment attempts are futile. the rallies held by different groups went nowhere. the debates went on for hours, days, weeks, months and years, and still, GMA is president.
what is her secret magic?
GMA is very smart. she knows very well how to play the game of politics. i even think she is very much better than marcos if only because she has learned from her predecessors and is able to deal her cards more closely and carefully. you see that same facial expression on TV all the time. she doesn't belt out in anger or sarcasm. she will not retaliate head on with her enemies. she will just let them say all nasty things about her while she goes on with her "work." amidst all the controversies, GMA never lost her cool. she will always face the public in such composure as if she has not heard anything bad.
and that is the ultimate secret. all her attackers will get tired at one time or another. She has perfected the art of dead malice (or "deadma" in Filipino) that all the more irks her opponents at wits ends.
But you think she does not retaliate? THINK AGAIN! she gets back at her enemies big time! tsk tsk tsk.

I truly believe that she has no secret. Former president Joseph Estrada has been ousted even though he is influential and powerful,had no recorded anomalies before, and even had the highest votes ever.
I think the reason why she cannot be impeached or ousted is because we are not united to get her off. In addition, some of us are uncertain as to who will replace her.
But hen, you're right. She always maintain her composure which looks like she has a strong self-confidence she do not do anything wrong.

I think her secret is money that's why she's still there in her position. Filipinos I think get tired anymore to impeach her. There's many attempts but still she can escape it. Many anomalies and corruptions in the government that never resolved up to now.

and that is what i'm so curious about, why there is no united stand to oust her despite the glaring evidences of corruption and ineffectiveness as a president. there must be something about her. many public sectors are trying to oust her since 2005 yet here she is nearing the end of her term already.

She fill more money on the pocket of her cabinet, the Military, Police, Justices, and most of all those greed politicians...As you noted that she is giving away P 500,000.00 as gift for all congresmen, governor and mayor...isn't that magic and they always that no money that they gave but gift for them

Yup! My friend, Gloria's administration is most corrupt and failure government from the past. her political ally do more corruption than all the past administration. She is has many dirty tricks to stay in power that is using the wealth of the country to please the military and the police generals to make sure they are in her sides.
There are many controversies in this governments. Money really makes blind people even the highest ranking officials will be blind. All officials of the government down to lower level is corrupt.
Do you agree that the President administration doing good in our Country. Do you agree that government doing things to cut down the price of oil?

I agree with 24Champ. I believe the reason why GMA is still in power is because she has the support of the upper middle class, the business sector, and the military. I she does it is a mystery. But one thing's for sure.. she really has a good poker face..

If there is any "magic" that can be attributed to GMA, that is none other than the continuous support of the business sector, the military, and the middle class. If you look at the two revolutions that toppled Marcos and Erap, you will realize that their foundations were the same groups of people that I mentioned.
The support of the religious sector was also prominent in those revolutions. But currently, I think it is no longer a factor. Maybe, people have already grew tired of the religious sector meddling with politics.
We also have to realize that GMA comes from a political family. Her father was a former president himself. It is no surprising if GMA has learned so many political tactics from her father when he was still alive.
I also think that being a female president plays a factor in why GMA is still in power. Yes, the gender factor has something to do with it. No matter how unpopular she could get especially nowadays, Filipinos by nature are mostly sympathetic with women. If GMA were a man, I think she would be easily impeached by the congress and the senate or we have undergone another "people's revolution" (although the latter action is no longer appealing - I mean we had two already, so it's more than enough).

and then we wonder why the business sectors, military and middle class continue to support the woman. probably because of the gender that people become more forgiving?
yes, she learned so much tactics not only from her father but also from the mistakes of her predecessors. shame.

Her secret is congress under her. Most of the congressmen who are supporting her have their own bested interested, they can always get away with everything since they have GMA serves as the fall guy. To think that she owes much of what she have to these congressmen. It's just like "I'll scratch your back if you'll scratch mine..." but as the line of the song goes "some good things never last..." so come elections, will at least it's another cycle for us.
