Michael Vick, more than a year ago, was sent to prison on a conviction of dog fighting. Evidence in the Michael Vick case showed that he was running a dog fighting operation in the backyard of one of his houses. There, they found dog cages, a dog fighting ring, among other things. Testimony from some of his friends provided information of Vick's involvement with training dogs to fight, financing the whole operation, killing dogs whom were no longer able to fight by drowning them, shocking them with electricity, and other brutal things. Consequently, he lost his endorsement, his big money contract, was released by the Atlanta Falcons, and was sent to prison. Recently, Vick signed a 2-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, after he was partially reinstated by the NFL Commissioner. With all this being said, should he get a second chance at playing football?
I say yes he should. Why? It's simple, everybody deserves a second chance. It shouldn't matter who he or she is as long as he or she is sincerely sorry for what he or she did. Granted, I don't know how sincerely sorry he is, but he still deserve an opportunity to redeem himself. While I don't lie what he did, some of the negativity toward his signing with Philadelphia, much less any team, is ridiculous. Dog fighting is bad, i get that, but it is not as bad as killing a human being. Some people wanted him to remain in prison longer than 23 months, and I don't know why because he paid his debt to society. He got what he deserve, and he wants a chance for redemption. So I say, give it to him. What is your opinion?

Haha, actually I wasn't trying to imply that he should have served longer. But I know what you mean about some people thinking convicts shouldn't get a second chance and a big part of their argument is that they didn't serve long enough. Unfortunately for them they don't get to make that decision, the judge does. I could probably write a long tirade on that specific issue, hence my comment that it's an entirely different discussion =)

he was convicted and he did his time. so now he should be able to go back to work, when other cons get out it is hard for them to get jobs and fit back in maybe it will be easier in this case because of vick being a pro star. he should be able to get on with his life without our interference and rude comments he has already been punished. most of us have done things punishable by the law and were not caught so who are we to judge him. as far as people wanting him to remain in prison longer it is because we get upset to see someone making his money and living that life feel he still does not have enough let me start an illegal dog fighting club, at what point does his senses kick in and he realize he has a great life and job lets not mess this up. thats why people are so mad they would love his talent and a chance at what he has or had and he threw it away for what how much money did he really make fighting dogs? was it more than football?
thats my thoughts on the topic.

I think he deserves a second chance, evryone does. He made a mistake and paid for it. He payed a way bigger price than anyone has ever paid for the same crime. I have heard of many dog fighting cases where the people get away with a slap in the wrist compared to what Michael Vick got. I believe that he deserves to play again and people should just accept him. But one thing is for sure, I dont think he will get a third chance if he messes up again so he needs to be very careful.

I don't know Michael Vick but everyone deserves a second chance. I have made several mistakes in my life. I was forgiven and got a second chance. There are people in the NFL and other leagues that have received more chances than two.
It depends if the person is sincere about their regret.
How many chances do you think God has given us?
