A couple of months ago my oldest daughter decided to become a Vegan. This was easy for her because she has never liked alot of meat. She also has a allergy to milk fat. The funny thing is I had tried to get her to try this tofu ice cream and she said, "Tofu is gross". Since she has become a Vegan she eats lots of tofu products, including the ice cream I had tried to get her to try. She loves it. She says it tastes like real ice cream and doesn't make her sick since there is no milk fat in it. She has done alot of reading about what she needs to eat to get the protien and everything she needs. She also tells us why we should become Vegan also. Like I told her I have nothing against the foods and will eat them, but I love my steaks and seafood. I will not give up eggs and cheese.
Is anyone reading this Vegan? You see her birthday is on Thanksgiving and she expects me to make her a birthday cake. I need a recipe for a cake and icing that is Vegan. Does anyone have one? I have always made a homemade choclate and white sheet cake. I use a buttercream frosting. The frosting I can probably make using Vegan butter substitute and soy milk. If you have a recipe please send it to me Thanks.

I think that is is purely awesome that you are supporting her and trying you best to adapt to her needs. I say keep it up and show your support. There are tons of vegan sites out there. I am sure you could find some good recipes out there.

I always support my kids unless I don't think what they are doing is right. She has never ate a lot of meat. She loves dairy products but her body can't tolerate them. This was a good choice for her. She has found ice cream, cheese and other things that she can eat that are vegan products. She has lost 30 pounds and no longer gets migrianes.
