if you saw a crime in progress would you get involved?

let us say for instance you saw someone being attacked or raped, would you intervene at the risk of your own safety? i would, i would make that call to the police then cause some kind of commotion to attract them away then i would say the cops are on the way. well at least that is what i would like to think. i would like to think that when the time comes that is what i would do, because i would hope that someone would do the same for me.

I have seen crimes being committed and have called the police numerous times. I couldn't watch people being attacked or raped and do nothing about it. I wouldn't get in between them because I wouldn't be strong enough but the police and 911 would and have been called by me.

That would be hard because I wouldn't have a weapon on me and I know I'm not strong enough to pull someone off the victim. Unless I found something lying around on the ground to knock the perpetrator out with. I would just hope and pray that the cops would get there fast.

yeah true, that i why i carry a whistle around with me, it makes one of those piercing disorienting sounds that no one really expects to hear. and it attracts attention.

That shouldn't even be asked but there are some people out there who would see it and keep passing by like nothing happened. I myself would be one of those people who just kept on passing by. JK. I would definitely intervene. There's nothing like a surprise attack.

i know that it is easy to say that one would jump in, but when the time comes it is hard to do.

hi mamabear oh yes and I did mAke a call to the police after 'identifying where the screams and shouting was coming from in our next door apartment complex. Apt 21 so I called the police told them the name of the complex next door to mine, and the aPartment'number. they reported back to me that I had saved the life of a child who was badly beaten and his mom who was knocked 'out silly.he told me he wished the lAdys neighbors hAd been that concerned. I was pleased withhis compliments and glad I made the call. I was afraid to go into the apt but did get help.

wow that is pretty awesome, i wish there were more people like you around. i make it a point to report stuff like that. i remember though, when i lived in england after the july 7th bombings, i was walking past a school and saw this expensive briefcase just lying there, not something someone would just toss. so i called the police about the suspicious case. they treated me like a criminal, it was pretty awful. i am still glad that i did it though, it could have been a bomb.
