Don't forget how lucky we are to be Americans!

On the mornings I manage to sit around and drink coffee with my friends our topic of discussion often swings to politics and how the government is or is not functioning. We discuss every form of government from the local city council to congress. Of course everyone has their own opinion and most lean either toward the Republician or Democrate side. We recently discussed the "rowdy town halls" as covered on the news. One of my friends said that he heard the expression "a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still!" and pointed out people have formed different opinions about the subject of the government entering into the field of health care. We are lucky to be Americans because we have the right to express our opinion and to vote for a person we feel represents us and our opinion. There are many places in the world where the people have no say in who governs their country and they don't even have the ability to influence the laws. I hope you don't take for granted the privileges we enjoy. Don't be afraid to read what our representatives are supposed to be reading and passing on our behalf. I think we are very lucky to be able to participate in our government, don't you?
