I used to impulse buy but now that the economy has not been doing so good I have been tring to save my money. I have a goal that I am tring to reach in five years. I want to save ten thousand dollars in five years. I think that is a pretty good goal for me. I don't hardly buy anything anymore unless I have too. I try to pay off bills but it is really hard. I am determined to reach my goal in five years. I am looking forward to seeing what will happen. I thought about investing in bonds but relized they take too long to gain any money. So I will do it my way. A I love shopping and I have to really regain myself from shopping. It's one of the hardest things I have had to do.

Unfortunately, since the economical downturn of our country, I cannot do any impulse buying like I use to do. Now I am on a very tight budget. Making a shopping lists before leaving the house was never something that I did, however, now I don leave home without one and I pretty much stick to what is on the list. Impulse buying for me is impossible at this time, but sometimes I am still very tempted. Hopefully, I can make a little extra money working on several legitmate money making sites.

saving money is always a hard thing to do! good luck to you! i don't impulse buy that much unless it is on sale. i tend to get most of everything i buy on sale, so i usually wait til the item is on sale if i really want to buy it or i shop in a thrift store to save money.

hahahha.. seems that we have the same problems. LOL
i myself has a hard time to save. i buy what i can see the in mall which is think its nice and good. in short impulsive buyer, yes iam. i dont even have savings before. but now i realized im going older and what will happen to me and to my family. so this year my goal is limit my shopping moment, then save and earned bigger. and save even a small centavo. i told my kids too to save from their allowances i gave daily. i open an savings account for my kids the two of them. so my eldest is very excited and happy that he has savings and its earning an interests. so from 2 pesos daily savings from his allowance, he decided to make it 5 peso from his allowance. its really the feelings as a mother that my son is learning.

I'm also trying to save money also. Little things can save me a lot. Instead of buying jamba juice, I can make my own smoothie for like half price cheaper. Instead of eating out, I cook at home for my family. I love saving money. It kills me when somebody gets me like 40 dollar jeans (Yes I am cheap) or wear their expensive hyperdunks outside on the outdoor basketball courts, etc. People take moeny for granted, so that's why I'm trying to earn as much money as I can online (=

I really try hard not to impulse buy. I think over the past few years I've really gotten a lot better at not buying things on a whim. There have been a few things that I've really wanted over the past couple of years but I've held back in hopes that prices on those items will soon drop and that I will be able to eventually buy them soon, especially after I make more money. I tend to impulse buy smaller items and nothing that would really break my bank thank goodness.

hello tuckersheri,
There is no doubt you can attain your goal if you really want it. Saving is the best thing that you can do for a better future. Investing in stocks is also good but you should not put only a few there and be sure to check every now and then.
For me, I have my savings automatically deduct every payday. This way I am not attemp to touch any single penny. I increase my savings when my salary increases. Also I buy stocks from the company, as an additional savings too.
No, I don't impulse buy especially now that I have college. In some occassion like birthday, anniversary and christmas only. And I'm not going to the mall to window shop in order to avoid unnecessary expense.

Hello, I have to really want something before I buy it. I am not an impulse buyer. I buy things that are needed unless it is for a present for someone.Things I buy for myself is music. I would like to buy more but I know the difference between my wants and needs and I try to stick with it.

It really depends on the situation. Day to day I'm a tightwad and a half! But I like to splurge just a little when on vacation. I can't help it. Why work your butt off if you cant treat yourself once in a while?

Right now I have to be tight with my money. I am so back up in my bills it is not funny. It would be nice to just go outthere and buy something because it looks nice. If we do some research and look at different stores we will find the same item at a more cheaper price. It is nice to have goals. That is what we live for.Good luck.

I dont know how to classify myself. I go to mall, and find ample things that I need or could use (they are displayed like that to make u feel like that). And I enquire their cost, and there are several times I feel I have enough in my purse to purchase them. I do window shopping, and reach the corner that I actually came for, I purchase what I came for, and while moving out, spot something that I like, and which is not that necessary. I check the price, if it is less than what I considered I needed, I pick it, and purchase it. :-) And of course, I have buyers remorse after this. :-)

Saving money is always a good idea so congratulations on setting that goal for yourself and for trying your best to stick to it. When you save money in a bank you also earn interest on that money so that helps you to save even more. I try to stay out of the stores unless I really need something...that way I'm not tempted. My husband and I used to go to a big open air flea market near us every Saturday and we always ended up wasting money buying things we don't need and didn't know we even wanted until we saw it. Now we stay away from there. If you don't see it, you don't know what you're missing.

I am a penny pincher. I rarely buy things unless they are needed. When I do buy things, it takes me a while to decide if I really want it or if I can wait. I recently bought a laptop that I have been wanting for quite some time, and even though I have really wanted it, I found myself second-guessing the purchase. It took my husband telling me to get it while we had the money before I gave in. If the purchase is somethingf or my kids or my husband, and I know they need it, such as clothes or school supplies, I try to get it all at once and with some things, I like to stock up. For example, I went to a local grocery store this morning and they had laundry soap for under a dollar a bottle, I bought 6 of them. I think that should last for a while.
