Do you give miss calls?

I have seen most of the time people prefer giving miss calls rather than calling. I prefer calling directly. But I tell my older relatives and some of my friends to give me miss calls when ever they feel like talking to me, I call them back. But I never like to give miss calls. Mine is post-paid account so I don't have to bother about the balance getting over. What about you? Do you prefer giving miss calls? or call directly?

Ya i do give miscalls to my friends if they have some good offers that is if they have free calls then i give miss calls to them and they call me back. this is a kind of saving i feel. Isn't it! I also give miscalls if i am running short of currency.

ethically it might be considered as a bad habit to give missed calls. no i do not give missed calls and i also try to avoid calling those who give me missed calls. such people are generally very talkative. however in some cases where there is prior understanding somewhat similar thing is acceptable. in such cases i give a ring and let the called person decide to take the call or reject it and call back.

Yes actually it is a bad habit unless it is mutually agreed upon. We try to save our money and make others to spend money on our talks. This is not fair. Thanks for your response.

I am not quite sure what you mean. I guess you mean do you answer your cellphone whenever it rings, or do you let it go to voice mail and call them back? My fiance and I don't use our phone unless we're on the road, and only three people have our cell phone number, though some of his older friends and mine may still have the number. We have our phone turned off unless we are on the road, as I said a moment ago, but also we have turned it on if the power has gone out and our one corded phone either isn't working, or my fiance's mom is trying to sleep and therefore we have the phone so that if his father calls we can talk to him, or if we need to call power on.

Oh it's letting it ring only long enough for the call to register, but then hanging up so that the person can't answer it. I'm sure some people don't do that just to make a person call back but rather just so that the person knows, especially in cases like you said where people are busy, like your example of meetings. They don't want to disturb, just let you know they called. Here, the cell phone company we use, our friend does too! So we can call and not worry about being charged. IN FACT we have to use this company, we live in a rural area, so not many companies have good signal, the fact we don't use the phone much makes it easier to just not care about the cell company.

A 'missed' call is a sly way of cutting off the call before one can answer so that we have to make the call and end up paying for it too.It is most irritating if you are in the midst of doing something or in a meeting.

before, no, I don't. I prefer calling them because it's a waste of time If I wait for them to call me back or wait for their SMS. Actually none of my friends knows my phone numbers, not even my family.

How will your family contact you if they need to? It is a two way gadget. If they need to talk to you urgently, they will have to wait for your call. Isn't it?

They thought the Mobile numbers that i'm usuing is mine. My friend forwarded all their SMS but never accept any calls from them. I just don't want any of them know my mobile number because they giving it away to anyone whos ask for it.

I don't like missed calls actually.I prefer smsing much more.I only give missed calls when i have very little balance or something like that.Missed calls actually doesn't makes any sense. It can mean that please call me back. But i have seen people giving missed call just as a habit. When i call them back they say that it was just for fun.I find it very annoying.

Yours is a genuine case. In such a case one has to take advantage of miss calls. So there is nothing to feel guilty about it. Thanks for the response.

Well you have some logic there. It shows you have a thinking brain. But don't over do it, people will think you are a miser.

Dear meapas, To save cost on calling my husband just to tell him, I am reaching the LRT (train) station so that he can come and pick me, we have this mutual understanding whereby when about to reach the station, I will give him a 'miss call'. To confirm that he got the signal, he too will give me a 'miss call' to confirm that he is coming to pick me. Some savings there, and imagined how much can it save for 20 days in a month... All the best, do keep in touch!

I do misscalls whenever i pulse just a little bit. Now i rarely make calls, I prefer send short messages, so the receiver can't read it again whenever he/she forgot.

When we don't have balance then we have to give miss calls and that is okay. Some people have the habit of keep on giving miss calls to save money and that is not fair. Thanks for the response.

I have seen lot of my frinds giving miss calls rather than calling. This is to just avoid the billing payment. Many female youngsters are using this method, preferably college students, where they use prepaid systems. They do not much money to get charged, instead their boy friend make them happy by giving call responsed.

No .Never I do not disturb others and make them spend money to call me if I want to talk to them.It is not right and decent. If you want to talk you talk with your own money or do not talk is my motto.

I do not know just what miss calls are unless you mean leaving a message on the answering machine'if so why not say that as a lot of aMericans might not understand miss calls and frankly I dont either. sometimes if it is not really'important I will leave a message on my friends answering machine but I usually love taLking to my friends directly.

I am from Mumbai, India. In my part of the world, telephone service providers don't charge incoming calls and so people have this habit of making calls and disconnecting before you pick up. They expect us to call them back on that number. We call this "missed call". They are trying to save money on their calls and expect us to pay for talking to them. Their money is money and our money is just paper. So this was put on discussion to know does this happen in your part of the world? Thanks for your response.

i dont give miss calls but i dont even give any response to any miss calls,i hate people who give miss calls, sometimes they continusly send miss calls to you and even dont pick up the phone when you call back

Yes I do give missed calls to my husband who instructs me to do so, in case I am traveling and reached a particular place or so. The reason for the missed call is decided between us,beforehand and we know what it is for. So when there is a missed call we understand.
