I think that all of us has to take time out to decompress and relax. I am a firm believer that if we do not break away from our normal routine just to relax once in a while, it takes a major toll on our body and our mind. For me, when I get the opportunity to relax, I tend to feel refreshed and as a result, my mental status, focus, and overall mental well-being seems to improve. Do you feel that relaxing helps to imporve your mental status?

Yeah I always rest everytime I get tired so that I have better condition and keep myself productive. If I do not do this I have a sore feeling and my movements were slow. If I'm stressed about a problem I sleep over it. Sometimes I dream about the solution.

I like to sit out in my backyard and just watch my dogs nosing around and sometimes playing. I also make it a point to relax in bed with a good book before going to sleep. It helps me not be so tense. With everyone on the go and available to the entire world via cell phones 24/7, I think people need to cut off the world for at least a few minutes every day and just lay down and do nothing.

I totally agree with you lynn! My job is to take care of my five kids and if I didn't take a break now and then I would certianly go a little crazy!! Everyone has something that relaxes them, a walk, a hobby, or even a break with a cup of coffee as company. I'd love to have a vacation to bali or tahiti but for now, a few minutes of quiet to read a book is good. The summer is the toughest and loudest time of year, since they are all home. But they go back in two and a half weeks!!
