I had an experiment today! We had bangers and mash and I fancied having onions in gravy with it...I fried the onions, then put a little brown sugar on top, then I wanted to give it a bit of body, so I zapped some kidney beans in the microwave and added them, with 3 cloves of garlic chopped up to the frying pan with the onions...then I added what i thought was a mexican stock cube with water, but I think it was a vegetable stock cube lol..tasty but needed something else...I buy bacon offcuts for putting in pies so i chucked a few of the more solid chunks of bacon in...I let it reduce down..then served with the sausages and mash and I have to say...it was absolutely beautiful...please try it and tell me what you think...I loved it :)

That sounds like a colorful meal. It's fun to make up your own recipes sometimes. I don't think I have those ingredients right now to try that dish but when I do, I'll let you know. What I tried mixing up once was some potato salad, some apples, and some fried rice. It was pretty good and heavenly. Maybe you should try it too.
