I used to just watch TV and listen to the radio or just go out, but when the internet came into the scene, just a day without it seems that i'm getting paranoid and irritated. There's an issue about this stuff from where I live, people from time to time steals the cable to sell the copper that it contains to a junkshop... leaving you without internet connection or telephone dial tone for weeks. It's really annoying and I'm not sure what the officers of the state are doing to prevent it. Money is always the root of the problem for most people, i guess they are just plain lazy... making excuses to their current state... wow, that's really annoying...
Have you ever experienced this kind of hassle? Can you last without internet nowadays?

We are not so distantly apart so I could relate,) There are instances of internet service interruption in my area too but not as more often than power interruption which is much worst. The circuit in my area happen to include some dwellers that take advantage of a free supply. Though power out takes only a few hours what adds to my irritation is that the next street belong to another circuit so they have power. So near and yet so far.( These things do happen and we'll just have to make the most out of it, right?

yup power interruption is not new to me as well... i bought UPS(uninterrupted power supply) so i won't cry whenever im working on some files and the electricity suddenly fluctuates; but it only lasts for 30 minutes, enough time to save your work.

That sucks... I would hate to have no internet connection for less than a day! I had experienced to have no internet connection a lot because of the darn connection that I am having, it always get disconnected, itis like useless, I have said I should just pay for the hours that I can go on the internet! Especially I don't do mch besides surfing on the internet so I can say internet is important to me and I cannot lose itotherwise, I could become really bored and don't know what to do...

I have not experienced a similar hassle, but once I did a freelancing job helping in repairing a major breakdown in a small town. Part of a cable system was cut off by an individual, with a value of around USD4. It cost the telecommunication company a lot more than that. The cost included replacing the whole cable, and reduced customer confidence. Businesses and other users had no line communication for three days.

Hi Pickroy. Sometimes during a storm, we lose electric power and/or phone for a few days. Such a pain. And then recently my pc was in the fixit shop for 10 days. Ack! The first couple of days was hard, but after that I rediscovered those things I used to love to do before the internet. I enjoyed doing them again, but I was so happy to get the computer AND the internet back.
