Old friends.....

Ever run into friends you haven't seen for years?? Please, share your experience....
The other day I was pumping gas and one of my old friends from highschool called out my name. I knew who she was immediatly, but, I hadn't seen her for, at least, eight years. I invited her over the other night and we had a great time....

Some time ago I met one of my old classmates at a supermarked. I didn't notice her at first, but she called out my name, and then I recognized her. We talked for a long time about our lives and about the things that had happend since we left school. We were classmates in elementary school and we hadn't seen eachother for many years. I have lost touch with with my old friends from that time, but she still kept in touch with many of our old classmates, and she told me some news about them. It is was interesting to hear about the educations they had chosen, the lives they had now etc and I really enjoyed out chat/meeting.

It is wonderful to see old friends.... But I have a question... How did it make you feel?? To see your old friend and hear the path they have chosen?? I realize it is quite interesting, but, when I spoke to my old friend, for some reason I felt like I was back in highschool for a minute. In my mind I compared the choices that we each had made in our lives.... I felt like-in my mind-I had to compete! I never feel this way about anyone. I am just guessing I feel this way because of the highschool connection. Weird!

That is so kewl that you ran into a friend at random and were able to get together and catch up on old times. That happens to me occasionaly too, many times at work, as i work at a grocery store. All of a sudden, out of no where someone will call out my name, and it turns out to be someone i haven't seen in years who is back in town visiting or something. It is great to get together with old friends.
Some of my most interesting "re-connections" have actually taken plane on line though. I now live over 2500 mile away from where i grew up, and every couple of months, out of no where i will either get a message from an old aquaintence on myspace/facebook or will run across their name in one of my friends' list of friends. It is always a good time to catch up on what everyone has been up to over the past decade!

You are right! Myspace is a great tool to keep in touch with friends who live further away. You can always leave someone a message, even if it is three a.m. where they are!
I guess if you live so far away from home you wouldn't be running into too many people you knew in the past. But, you never know.
I am from Pennsylvania and when I moved to Florida, I actually ran into two people I knew from back home. Each had moved to Florida as well! It was crazy!!

August mostly I run into old friends or former classmates because this is the time when there are reunions in the university and I live just near it. I usually bump into them in supermaket or department store and ended up eating out for a snack. It's really funny sometimes when the friend shouts your name when you're in line in the cashier's counter and the friend at the other side. And can't believe that you haven't seen each other for ages. And there are also friends who live in same city but the number you gave was lost and luckily you ran into each other after some time.
