I enjoyed both actors performance's as the joker in the batman film's, and its really difficult to decide who performed it best, so I'll leave it up to you all to choose, and tell me who you thought did the best version of the joker. Jack Nicholson vs heath Ledger As the joker?

Jack Nicholson didn't inspire fear, he inspired a clownish image. Commpared to Heath Ledger's Joker, kids would feel free to fire Jack Nicholson to do his Joker at their parties! It is no comparison to me. Nicholson's Joker is a caricature of a villain. Perhaps that is what they wanted from the Joker back then, but Ledger's Joker is definitely more memorable.

But,the question was not asking who the kids would like better as a joker at their birthday party.Even if it were possible to have a hollywood actor at your childs party it would be impossible to have Heath Ledger there anyway.

I was trying to use it as an example, to show the differences between the style of acting, which showed why I liked Heath Ledger better.

I always prefer Jack Nicholson what a great guy! I like him in all his films. He is a really great actor and always brings the joy and comedy that you want in a good film.

No comparison for me too, although both played the Joker the movie require them to portray it differently. Both I may say did their part extra ordinarily outstanding. Of the two Joker the later is more fearsome, the story even elevated the joker as a very worthy opponent, a Nemesis in fact of Batman. If they would play the other version then I could compare, but that's not possible anymore. I feel sorry for Heath Ledger for his early demise. As for Jack Nicholson a very seasoned actor, if he did it in his time, I bet it would turn out magnificent too.

I love Jack but let's face it, Ledger was much better as the joker. Nicholson knows how to play crazy guys but he didn't really resemble the joker. It was just Nicholson with a makeup. But it isn't just his fault, it's also how the director wanted his joker and what writers did with it.

I personally think Heath Ledger did a better job as The Joker. Although Jack brought a lot of character to the role Heath made The Joker more dark and sinister. Jack made him look more comical. In my opinion Heath Ledger made that movie interesting Christian Bale was a joke as Batman, He did better as Bruce Wayne. In the movie they had Cristian talking in such a raspy voice he sounded more he was possessed by a demon rather than a super hero,at times I could barely hear or understand what he was saying.

Hands down, heath Ledger. The moment he utters the line "why so serious" makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Ledgers take on the Joker was so much darker than that of Nicholson's. Such a shame that his life was cut so short as he was really coming into his own an actor. I did enjoy Nicholson's perfomance in Tim Burtons version of Batman but to be honest the rebooted franchise Batman begins and the dark knight are a little more faithful to the comics and I cant wait for the next installment.

I seriously think that Heath Ledger was the better of them. He seems to be alot more evil and so opposite his own personality. I know Jack Nicholson was good to but he as played parts that were weird and crazy (Wolf) before so it wasn't such a stretch for him. I think for Heath Ledger it was.
