Hey, in my school I'm currently taking a class on critical thinking. Mostly it seems to be a class that teaches how not to think. This confuses me since, I believe that no one should be able to tell us how to think.
So my question is this: How important do you guys think it is for us to think critically about things? At what point do we start overthinking things?

Hi, Tigercub!
You've obviously just begun learning about critical thinking. You'll discover that it's a way to check yourself to see if what you're thinking is logical, sensible, etc. In thinking critically, we sort out the randomness of our thoughts when appropriate, and focus on the heart of the matter at hand. It's quite useful.

OMG! He saw me!, He didn't smile, Jack must have told him, does Jack know him?, OMG he must!. or John must or Jake must or the whole world must! This is over thinking.
OKAY!, so he didn't smile, so what? This is under thinking.
Critical thinking is what keeps you sane and lies somewhere in between.
